Does the Steam version ever go on sale?

I always see it for like 80% off for the uplay version but I'm not downloading that. Does this one ever go in sale? Even just 20% off?

sorry but what is the difference to buy here or uplay ?? if you buy here you still has to download uplay and start uplay to start the game... you also has to add friends ON UPLAY to play with friends... you cant join partys with your steam friends.. i just dont understand this thoughts.... really... buy it on uplay with 80 % discounts..... what is the ***** difference.

I thought I could avoid downloading the Uplay client if I bought the Steam version. Thought maybe I could sign into my Uplay account in-game or something.

So, yeah. I did buy it on Uplay after all.

I'm not opposed to Uplay or Ubisoft, btw. I'm actually a big fan of most of Ubisofts games. It's just GoG, Steam and Rockstar launcher were plenty and I didn't want to add another one. But since it looks like many Ubisoft games are going to be exclusive to Uplay in the future I just bit the bullet and downloaded it.

I got damned tired of waiting for it on Steam, so bought it on U...and turns out there is NO advantage, after all, of buying it on Steam—you still need the UPlay client.

You must have been living under a rock.. AC:Syndicate, Division 1 and Wildlands were the last Ubisoft games published via Steam.. that was 4 years ago
-> also the last game that did NOT require Uplay was AC:2 ..even AC2:Revelations was already tailored for Uplay.. that was end of 2011

I've been a console player until just a year ago, so all the Ubisoft games I've ever played were on console.

I'm dramatically the opposite. I started on consoles in 1978, and bought my LAST one in 1990. I've been a PC-only player since the first Tomb Raider came out. KB/M just feels more natural to me, but that might be because I've been touch-typing since 1974 (that means not looking at the keyboard).
