Game Not Launching Workaround
After the latest update, some players have reported issues with starting the game (and in-game slowdowns). The following workaround should resolve the problem:

Please delete the entire cache folder in Uplay C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache and the issue should resolve.

I just had this problem (game would launch the spash screen with the dude and helicopter, say something about synchronizing achievements with the cloud, then disappear, Steam would show me as playing the game but it wouldn't launch).

I deleted the Easy Anti Cheat folder in Steam/steamapps/common/Wildlands
I deleted the Easy Anti Cheat folder in the appdata folder (press start, type run, hit enter, type %appdata% to open this folder)
Find Wildlands in the Steam library, right click on it and verify the game files, this will reinstall anticheat the next time you launch the game
Delete the Cache folder here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache
Restart your computer

This fixed it for me, hopefully it helps someone else too.
Dam shame it did'nt work for me, try'd all the fix's i can find nothing works.

It worked for me, but I had to run a compatability test on the Ghost recon GRW.exe (it wont have the exe next to it, it will just be the skull icon) and the GRW lancher in the Wildlands folder, try this after you do all the steps above.
The issue is Windows 10 related I can confirm that my game runs perfectly fine on Windows 7. However, after doing as suggested and even more nothing worked on Windows 10. After the update that included the Predator mission was installed, that is when the issue was introduced to Windows 10. @DEVS hopefully this will assist you in finding a true solution.

Yeah for whatever reason I can't get it to work at all on Windows 10. Oddly, it works on Windows 7.
Try downloading & installing visual C++ redist 2012 update 4, the problem was in my case a missing MSVCP-related .dll-file. Either way, it's possible to view the error message by locating your main game folder and running the executable "rungame.exe", it "should" tell you which file, if any, is missing.
I talked to ubi support and everything they told me did not work.
The game played fine yesterday but now it won't launch.
Have same problem with the addition that NVIDIA's driver updates also lock out game,.. Have found that if you run the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe found within "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Wildlands\EasyAntiCheat" directory, NOT the one in the UbiSoft directory has fixed the problem for me. Running Windows 8.1
