You need to install Dirext X from here only.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands\support\DirectX\ DXSETUP.exe
Also run Dxdiag.exe from run and see what your drivers are. If there is a problem with them it will show here.

I dont have a "games" folder under "Ubisoft Game Launcher" because I install all of my games a an external hardrive so Ghost recon is installed under Steamapps on the external hardrive.

It has the same folders for either frontend you use. Under the game in steamapps go to the GRW folder then support then direct x.

I had the same problem like topic starter. I had to remove all the Nvidia drivers with a cleanup tool http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html other posibillity was not an option. After removing the files reboot your computer and download/install your latest graphics card driver.

For me it is now happy gaming, i hope for you also.

No, Ubi programers totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game this week. I already deleted "the cache" 10 times, setuped directx 10 times, etc, BUT NOTHING MAKES THE GAME RUN.

WE NEED PUT UP ALL POSTS LIKE THIS TO MAKE THEM AWAKE.

It's wonderful the skills of programers to ruin a program that was running fine.

DirectX is a MS component, devs of this game should not be blamed for it

Shhh.. go back to sleep.

I can't help myself...

What makes you think a DirectX error is related to the DirectX installation, and not the hardware driver?
DirectX is installed with Windows by default, you should never need to install or reinstall DirectX, especially in Windows 8 or later, it's hard coded into the OS now.

The likely cause of this issue was the driver not being installed, or the GPU did not support the version of DirectX he was using (DX11).

But without his system specs, we wouldn't know that. Which is why I asked for them, it's the first step you should take.

You really are bad at this.

But anyway, let this thread die.

NO. THE GAME WAS RUNNING FINE 3 DAYS AGO AND WAS RUINED BY AN UPDATE. THE USER IS NOT OBLIGATED TO PERFORM COMPLICATED PROCEDURES THAT DON'T WORK IN ANYWAY. THIS IS PROGRAMER'S WORK. OTHERWISE THEY ARE NOT RESPONDING ON PROPER POST.

GRRRRR... GRRRRRR.... ROOARRRR...

NVIDIA DRIVERS? THEY WANT TO MAKE ME ROLL BACK TO OLD DRIVERS? NO, THEY HAVE TO UPDATE THE PROGRAM TO RUN WITH NEW DRIVERS. I BOUGHT THE 2 YEARS PASS COUNTING WITH THIS!

GROWLL!
