Rookie questions about weapons in DLC and club rewards
Just starting the game and have finished the first province - am currently using the starter AR (P416) and sniper (M40A5).

Would you recommend just working through the game and unlocking default weapons per province as I go, or is it ok to buy stuff from the club/store at this early stage? I'm wondering if half the fun is getting the new weapons and buying new weapons just provides alternates that are not too much better so won't ruin any sense of progression. On the other hand if the bought weapons are just hands down better than the default campaign ones, I am wary of shooting myself in the foot and missing the basic fun of acquisition in game. Or are the missions and skill unlocks actually the sense of progression rather than better weaponry?

Also a couple of questions about purchased weapons:

If I buy Fallen Ghosts dlc, do any included weapons become available in the main campaign? I have googled and answers vary from "no" to "yes - if you play the first FG mission". The answers I have seen date to 2017 so I don't know what the current situation is.

Similarly - the old (2017) videos I have seen for club reward weapons show say - suppressors equipped on the G36c - but the current in game AR list shows this have having a stock muzzle. I gather you can't change the config of club weapons, so when considering a club purchase I would like to get a suppressor equipped gun. I am thinking of getting the G36C or the Future Soldier pack that includes a version of the ACR. If it turns out they are both unsuppressed (and cannot be modified) the I would pass on that.

Thanks for your help in advance!

First of all: Don't buy the DLC. It sorta stand alone, and the main game will cost you months to fully unlock.

The weapons you can buy with Ubi credits aren't all that special. I'd say skip it at first and buy it later to throw in the mix. The starter weapons will do fine. Also, the entire world is unlocked at the start. If you see a weapon or mod in the list, grap a helicopter, fly to the province, interrogate a badguy and steal the mod/gun.

About every gun can be fitted with an silencer, no matter the mods you have unlocked at any time.

Thanks for that Shaun - much appreciated.

Took your advice and looked around the map. Found the Aug A3 (was really near where I was exploring lol) - happy bunny!

Cheers!

if u want only buy NON basegame guns like mk18 or year 2 pass, but only if u REALLY want it

buying fallen ghost DO actually give u the guns instantly, but if u can wait, the only thing you cannot get for free is Year 2 pass items, and deluxe dlcs (peruvian + el comandante) prebuild guns, and thats.... basicly at low price << if u wanna still get out of the bad loadout, get y2 pass instead

i can even get you a acr, a msr and a tar-21 within 30 mins now, but then it ruins ur progression feeling getting a good gun, so imagine you get one of top rated guns without attachments, still vanilla and still lack power, but you won't change it till racking hours, did it ruin progression for you?

Hi BlueLightning

Thanks for your input :)

I did get a feeling of satisfaction getting the Aug normally within the campaign. On that basis I don't think I will buy stuff yet - I would miss out on that sense of progression I reckon.

Maybe much later in the game when I might just want to play with different things after I have acquired the "normal" weapons, I will probably buy them then if they seem fun at the time.

Thanks again!
