Can i play alone?
Im certain this has been asked, but rather than necro an old thread, id rather ask about the current state of things.
im wondering if i can realistically play solo with the ai helpers?

you can play it alone very well, your ai mates are good enough for that in my opinion.
I play only solo, it's like any other ubi game. :D:

I would contest this. The AI aren't very SMART... But they are actually good for some tasks. Sync shot for dropping up to four targets at once is their best use. And then they make good general purpose area control, provided you're alert enough not to let them rush a mounted weapon emplacement.

Also, they get slaughtered if you order them to openly attack enemies who hold a superior position (as they should). I mean, really, why would you order your team to assault an elevated position with no real cover to fall back into?

I play solo and just ignore the AI Helpers all together.

Ps, you can go as far as driving away with out them and they'll miraculously pop up in the truck or heli.

The AI are perfectly suitable for a single-player playthrough. You just have to be careful with them because sometimes, they are a bit dumb and can give your position away while you're preparing for a stealth attack. That's when the 'Go To' squad command comes in useful, because you can just put the AI teammates somewhere, and then set up sync shots etc. as you need them... :steamhappy:

The AI can be disabled if you want to "true solo". But to my knowledge if you are not spotted or if you are just hunted the AI can't get spotted. Plenty of times they have just walked past enemies while I've been hiding, so they do not really make your stealth any harder in my experience.

I personally think solo (with AI) is actually easier than being in a duo with a friend. Also, there's a bunch of difficulty/HUD settings to play around with to find a good balance for yourself in solo play.
