Optical Stealth Backpack
So, game told it will help to be a little harder to get noticed, after testing in day and night, the
Detected Thingy speed did not change, so... its a lie?!

Depends on the light level, you know the better it is the darker it is and sticking to the shadows when moving and shooting out lights.

The almighty bush! if you can lay down in a bush, the enemy will stand on stop of you and not detect you.

Without the Optical backpack they can stand around you close by and detect you.

It does help, and just depending on several variables it either slows the detection rate down enough for you to kill them or hide if you are lucky or you won't be detected at all and move like a Phantom... the Ghost who walks. :grwskull:

The camo debate.... man I watched many videos on it and have tested it myself and I honestly think some them just went about testing it wrong. Even Darkdally to a point.

I think it helps depending on a few things and slows down the detection rate or keeps you from being detected and the rate slowed is very small but together with the Optical pack it adds up on Tier 1

I found having a matching color setup to my surroundings and using the Optical pack and using proper line of sight and hit and run tactics I can go pull off some seriously fun runs even on Tier 1- Tier 1 and ummm yeah just learn to avoid the roads and always watchout for Unidad patrols cause the patrols are almost always the reason ♥♥♥♥ goes south and causing me to bug out or just
die because their detection speed is so fast when it happens by a road trying to grab someone or get a convoy.

I would rather see more talk about the ghillie suit and camo not having no effect or enough of an effect. At the very least the devs should fix it so that the proper color and surroundings gives you the same detection buff and delay as if you had the Optical backpack and together you see an even greater benefit. as it stands there just seems to be a very small benefit to even using a ghillie suit or none at all just depends...

edit: it would be good if wearing helmets and body armor actually helped reduce the damage... but I guess that is wishful thinking, and with the hivemind it would not help in the end anyway, you are forced to keep moving or just be swarmed unless you can finish them off fast and change your location in case you are being hunted

It's purely cosmetic, doesn't make any difference
