If you purchase weapon packs, those weapons do pop in your inventory automatically.
The Year 2 Pass comes with the following:
The Season Pass comes with Narco Road, Fallen Ghosts, and Unidad Conspiracy missions, plus 3 equipment packs.
Also, not interested in any crates that are going to give my game character an advantage from the get-go. It's a shame that you can't buy gear so you can add it to the game world, enabling for interesting emergent gameplay where you have to go find it (for instance, to get the new weapon but have to take it from a powerful enemy NPC).
Not sure about the Narco Road & Fallen Ghosts content either as from what I read you have to play a separate game with a different character, and none of the content goes into the main game. The Unidad Conspiracy missions seem like they might be interesting, but at this point it seems you can only get them with the Season Pass. Doesn't sound worth it to pay for the whole season pass for jut one bit of content that might be interesting.
So if I do get it I think I'll just go for the base game.
