Is it worth getting to tier 1?
Hey, I just hit level 30 and only half through story. I would like to know is it worth getting to tier 1? Will there be some nice rewards for that?

Now it seems it's easy to get through tiers, but I've read some forums that the further you get, more grindy it gets, especially when game forces you to play on extreme difficulty.

What are your thoughts?

Well im on tier 24 and it has given me many rewards, it did help alot when i was not getting many weapons and stuff from the store for money and you get coins to get crates for weapons it really just matters if youre into grinding to get crates.

I got Tier ! in Ghost mode. I dont regret anything. From boxes I got 2 attack helis, alot of cool weapons and more. If you like the game and if you don't get bored yet. Try it but be ready to play the same missions over and over. Also, Stealth only cuz 1 hit and you
lying on the ground. (Sorry for bad english ^^)

Worth it I guess for getting the prestige for crates like they said. Other than that, I'm not enjoying it. The grind becomes zombie-like. The focus, for me at least, becomes the tier points, not the game itself. Once done, I'll most likely start up in extreme non-tier mode where you don't get one shot from the next province, or where enemy vehicles don't suddenly show up right on top of you when they are alerted. At lower level tiers, I've had them show up on my location faster than I could stand up from a prone position. Nutz!

Here's a list of rewards and their unlock level:

It's not fun. It's unbalanced. The only good feeling is getting overpriced cosmetic trash for free.

Ghost Mode on extreme and not cheating death is a fun challenge.

Tier 50 is still easy
Tier 45? Force u go regular at least (no more arcade)
Tier 40 is warming up, force u in advanced
Tier 35 force u going extreme

The whole tier is fun till it start to get really grindy at 30, but the reward kinda... yeah, 2 useful weapons and tons of prestiges, thats it

Worth it: yes
Easy: no

Nope

but if you like to grind stuff and doing stealth thing maybe its good for you. expect to get alot of trash item in your inventory
I'm sitting on tier 31 with about 3/4 of the game cleared. Personally, I find it okay so far since I don't focus too much on earning the tier points and just leave it on in the background. Tier mode feels like the proper "end-game" for me, if I'm going to play on extreme anyway, why not go all in? It feels far more fair than ghost mode anyway.

So, as long as you don't put all your effort into grinding tier points, and just do whatever you find fun instead, you should be fine.

Yes, if you’re having fun with tier mode, there is a lot of rewards from it. The prestige alone is worth it.

Thanks for all the answers. Right now I'm playing with tier mod on. But if I want I can turn it off any time I want, right? And my progress will be saved even after I've turned it off, or I have to grind everything all from the start again?

You can turn it off and back on any time, and if you upgrade weapons it’ll save what lvl they are (but you won’t get tier mode weapon upgraded bonuses outside of teir mode).

progress saved, tier progress and weapon level, even u put it off

however, u cant upgrade a gun, or use gun levels on non tiers, and u wont gain tier till u opt in again

Honestly the only thing that makes it worth it is the ungodly powerful sniper rifle that you get that can one shot armored vehicles, and the resources you get with tier advancement, but honestly the convoys and side missions for resources are by far better, though you get a lot more if you do convoys and side missions for resources in T1 mode, because the more you advance in tiers the more of a bonus you get when do you collect them. Even works on the small resource caches you find scattered about. Once you get the sniper rifle though, id say just walk away from T1 as the rewards after that aren't anything to write home about.

Along the lines of what [SFW]suttoriiga said, it's still a good challenge by level 30. The orange blobs are gone, you need to recon with drone, you won't know what's below you when flying over an area, and the enemy is not mad crazy yet. It's still fun and exciting there. But the more you level, the worse it gets. Start pushing the 20s and inside the 10s towards Tier 1 and it can often get (not fun) crazy. Like I mentioned, once alerted, they can be (but not always) magically all over you. That is not fun or challenging.

Advice that I've read in a few places is simply to turn off Tier mode until you are ready to submit a mission or convoy supplies, then turn it on, submit, and turn it off again. That way, you (sort of) get the best of both worlds.

One tip I'd give if you are going to keep it on is that if you stir the hornet's nest and you somehow manage to avoid getting immediately swamped, but they keep relentlessly hunting you (for what seems like forever), just turn off Tier mode for a minute and they'll quickly stop, then activate Tier mode again and continue.

Once you get all the prestige and all the rewards, I can see no use to play Tier mode. Remember that this is just my opinion. Just use that save slot for weekly challenges, and then restart a new save in Extreme mode and set your own restrictions on how you want to play. You can then focus on the game itself without the distractions of Tier mode leveling or achievements. I heard that the level below Extreme actually provides the right amount of enemy ability and challenge. Since we can change difficulty any time, you can play around with those to find your sweet spot. I look forward to trying that myself after I reach Tier 1 on my current save.

Cheers!

I'v finished the game 3 times on Tier. Ghost mode on Tier. I love it now like the first time. I will help anybody to make this game as good or as bad as they will. Learning and doing the operations different is like haveing a new game. Helping others and leting them do it there way, priceless.
