Decline Operation Watchman?

Hey, is there any way to cancel the Sam Fischer mission? Every night at 21:00 ol' Sam reminds me he's ready to get his pathetic @ss saved, but I could care less. I already completed the mission in another instance of the game, and it's an @ss-whip. Thanks in advance.

I managed to solo the mission with rebel support ''Guns for hire and Diversion'' on max unlock and cooldown was easiest way i found done 1st time, keep eye on cooldown then use both asap then exit base with sam.

This mission has no purpose in the overall story line. It's a curse. I want it to go away. I never want to hear "Nomad this is Matchwood" again. Steam developers need to remove this annoying @ss-thorn. Or, at least make an alternate mission that allows you to kill Matchwood in the slowest and most painful way possible.

Finish it & it stops or wait for next update and the fixes that come with it & cross your fingers this issue was one that gets addressed.
The updates are long over due and most should have come in the form of hotfixes straight away but alas ..we wait for 3 months for things they should be falling over backawards red faced trying to fix.

Good news. Finished the mission in this instance of the game. Discovered an excellent strategy: got a couple of friends to help. Me and another guy died in the room where you find Matchwood, but my other friend was outside the base. Ol' Sam ran to the only surviving team member, which saved a lot of hellish combat.

In solo all you need to do is crouch behind Matchwoods back, keep your back to the wall and pick the enemy off with the MK249 then bugger off the base.

You can just set difficulty to arcade and just speed run it to get it out of the way.

If you just go start the mission and go to the unidad base where you need to meet him at 2100 hours, it will stop spamming the intro VoiceOver. You don't even need to do the whole mission, just get him to tell you hes in position, and itll tell you to meet him by 0400. At this point, you can just deselect the mission and move on with your merry day, and come back when you feel like it. No more Spam Fisher.
