I had the exact same problem with GR Breakpoint. It was one of two things that finally fixed it. It was either
A) Sonic for windows (spatial surround) disable or turn off this setting, or it was
B) Disabling all my recording devices that wasn't being used leaving only your current enabled.
I tried both of these separately and I still couldn't get it to work. IMPORTANT!!! The setting, it would seem, does not function from the main menu setting. It didn't start working until I actually launched my game. Once in there, go to the audio setting page and try it again. It works!
