Managed to do it by camping on top of a box in the corner of the room where Fisher is, the box is essentially behind fisher in the corner of the room, you should have clear line of sight on both doorways, all windows AND the stairs. Just camp on that box, keep an eye on Unidad storming, let your AI buddies do what they do best and soak up bullets/revive each other. Once I had defended Fisher, before leaving the base I used my drone to take out whatever choppers are hovering around, run to a car, drive away with Fisher, job done. Enjoy your goggles.
I did it this way solo on Tier 45,ish, maybe Tier43/42(Except all my guns are still level 1 because I still have some skills to unlock, so would rather use my resources for that) - and it was on Regular difficulty (Because Tier mode, I usually play on Arcade because I enjoy feeling OP as ♥♥♥♥).
Things that finally made me finish this scenario:
-shoot the power generator while sneaking in base to disable jammer and enable drone
-tag 3 snipers using drone before contacting Sam Fisher
-stay on the table as you said, which means helis don't see you or shoot at you, good view of entrances
-having upgraded to 2 revives was cruicial to getting out alive
-mines as mentioned is always useful
Took me quite a few tries today to finish this mission. And I must say it is quite badly made. No checkpoints. No skipping the looooong boring cutscene of Sam Fisher's monologue. I like stealth, but since you can't kill anyone, it is just boring and having to sit around waiting for that one guard outside the door. After that it's no stealth and all chaos, you don't have much distance so can't really plan or do things strategically.
This mission was pretty much just miserable. Learned quite a different ways this can fail. First the many attempts at sneaking and failing. Then the many attempts at staying alive while Unidad has full alarm, 3 helis and an army around you. Trying to keep your AI squad mates alive cause they sure can die! And then having to babysit Sam Fisher all the way from the laptop to some far remote cabin. Tried driving a car, but mission lost cause Sam Fisher didn't follow. Tried walking instead, quite ironically Sam doesn't quite live up to his last name, swimming about 0.5m/s. Crossing the river took maybe 30 seconds. Waiting for sam took more than a minute! Just sitting and waiting for him to swim over! Then having to run, wait for slow Sam, continue running, wait, run, wait. Across very difficult terrain.
Wow. No fun!
Once you get to the surive part, just plant yourself in a area where your back is covered.
Shoot the guys comming in and keep spawning rebels...
at some point unidad will start thinning out, and when they are few enough....run for the forrest and out of sight
i had to turn it from extreme to arcade to do it tho... :/
after too many failed attempts. i finally survived the hack,
then i lose the target on way to exfil point.
now i just laugh every time he sends me his coordinates.
you could do it coop before the reward expires(3 weeks) and then try alone
so finished it arkade......ant it was ok :D
With arcade i end it in 1 hours :)
My main gripe is that after you get killed by 10,000 tangos you respawn just outside the camp again, like WTH??? on other hard two phase missions after you get to a computer or do something and then die you respawn at the second phase of the mission unless you completely get out of the game.
Yet this mission is not that way. I found a great shortcut to get in and meet up with Sam but after that its all about 3 or 4 helos above and anywhere from 10 - 20 or so tangos that you have to deal with while Sam NEVER shoots anything at anytime (sigh)
I still havent completed it yet :) byw, I am playing it on the hard level so mybe I'm gonna have to play on an easier level but I will say that its really getting to me and I'm finding it very aggravating. ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
