Completing regions in order
Is there a certain order I should take out the cartel? For example taking out the security regions before the influence regions, or production before smuggling. Thanks.

Nope and it's exactly the way the devs have intended to be.

Feel free to bust up everything that comes in your way during free roam.

the order for the story should be low skull till high skull (diff)
where you can actually go as u wish, but a few high skull region dialogues will refer to lower skull region

example: you should finish San Mateo (4 skull) before Koani (5 skull), reason in the spoiler, it contain story spoiler so i don't recommend if u just wanna know the order
Because when u do a interrogation in a mission in koani to get intel of "Boston Reed", one of them spoils the info and said "or Sueno will send us to El Pozolero if he founds out". "El Pozolero" is San Mateo boss that make people disappear. His name only pops up in the game after u progress in San Mateo

The point here is the game doesn't bar you away from any content completely except a fight with the final boss from the get go, just becuz your assault rifle lacks a 50-round magazine attachment or something. Yes the dialogues maybe disjointed at certain points, they are mostly ignorable and the player may not even notice it.

There is not a certain order, let alone an ideal order, to take down the cartel. You can do it any way want. I would like to add that some provinces may be difficult than others, but that shouldn't deter you from what you want to do.

Both are correct, but as i said, the game designed so u take down cartel at low level skulls to higher ones, though this is not a requirement or a must, but it's designed that way and i recommend doing so also because difficulty scaling, at low level skull mostly uses smg-11 and at high level mostly uses ak12 and more enemies+trained. As other said and i mentioned u can go as u wish, but ideally take it low-high skull, the order is ur choice, or even u wanna go high skull sure but i recommend using low-high method to understand the story the most + difficulty learning curve
I always recommend going low level skulls as well... but I do also think it is important to do certain provinces before you get to extreme, as their missions are pretty rough unless you know what you are doing.

Either way just Ghost around in that sandbox know as GhostRecon Wildlands and have fun :grwskull:
Got it, thanks to all of you that left a reply.

Indeed.
In my 2nd playthrough I didn't follow the skull order instead I throwed myself right into the Security regions and phew that was a pretty rough game!
I believe Security regions posses the hardest missions among the rest, not to mention when your plan A fails and you're forced to go in hot :)

:P
even at same skull, security has the highest mission difficulty, so yeah, i agreed
I'd do Koani province first so you get the aviator sunglasses......
I go bouncing around without any regard to the province difficulties. Mainly I do equipment hunting first. So after running through the 'tutorial' to get my basic abilities going, I hop over to Barvechos and take a plane out over Koani, then skydive down to pick up the sniper scope. Then I swing counter-clockwise around the map to pick up things like sniper rifles, LMGs, etc.

By the time I've picked up my essential gear, I'm in pretty good shape. In terms of mission difficulty, the only problems I've ever really had is the 'do not be detected PERIOD' missions. With the capstone mission there being the truck depot in Koani.

For other places, I actually ended up cheasing missions because I got the lay of the area before I actually went in under mission restrictions. One of my favorites was cheesing the mission to take out Bookhart. I picked up the MSR on a my loot run and got the layout of the mine. When I worked my way to the bottom and saw the layout I went: "This is a killbox behind a killbox with a bolt hole someone could flee out of. This is a BOSS ROOM. I know where Bookhart's gonna' be later."

So, when that 'later' happened, I flew an exploding drone in and blew him up. Didn't engage any hard resistance despite the layout that would have mowed bolder men down.

Next play through, I want to try sending the drone in his bolt hole at the back. *Cackle* Bypass the whole friggin' mine.

Though if you want to talk bolt holes, La Plaga's bolt TUNNEL is worth figuring out quickly.
I start in the 1 skull region, then one of the 2 skull regions,, but quickly look at where the upgrade medals are: Barvechos for Ammo Capacity, Agua Verde for No Pain, La Cruz for Detection, Mojocoyo for Drone Range, etc. I've got a note card next to my keyboard for the important ones.
