Explain the Tier one system?
Okay, I got to level 30, which I think is cap. I got a message about activating Tier 1, but I don't totally understand it. IT seems like it just boosts enemy speed.

I'm at I think Tier 43 now, and they have gotten way too fast, so I've turned it off. How fast do they get? Is it possible to downrank, or is the idea to eventually make the game so difficult it can't be played?

You can turn off Tier mode (and the results are not permanent). You don't lose anything by doing so. Tier mode goes backward, from 49 to 1. In Tier mode, you earn points to upgrade your weapon damages, but said upgrades only work while you have Tier mode activated. Also in Tier mode you earn points to get crates, which in turn sometimes gives you great benefits such as the ability to spawn Unidad APC's ("tanks") and armed helicopters, and you need not have Tier mode enabled to spawn them. My understanding of Tier mode may be very limited, and that's the extent of what I think I know, someone else may be able to clarify, correct, or elaborate.

I played the game at the hardest difficulty from the beginning and tier one made not a very big diffrence more than they maybe take 1 or 2 more bullets to kill some enemies

tier one is a system that every time you level you get stuff for your character and or resources and the closer to one you are the game will lock the lowest difficulty you can have.

I'm tier 15 I think and the game is locked at hardest difficulty but if you play somewhat stealthy that's not a big problem

my opinion is that it's worth playing tier one mode and keep leveling instead of being capped at lvl 30

Tier mode increase difficulty over levels - probably designed to shift players out of the game because in the end it becomes frustrating around tier 30 or 20 (depending on your views on masochism).

I'm TIER 22 - So far so good. Are you telling me the worst is yet to come?? Maaan... :)

@GreyGhost: I LOVE the TIER mode. I was "done" with the game storywise. And TIER gave me such a NICE challenge.

I must admit: I'm one of those CoD run-and-gun players. And below TIER 40, this DOES NOT work at all anymore.

I had to change my playstyle COMPLETELY to tactical. That worked until TIER 30. Then things got too hard.

So I had to switch tactics AGAIN. Started cheesing the Sync-Shot and Rebel Diversions / Reinforcements heavily.

I played the SAME game in three different styles:

- Run & Gun
- Tactical
- Ability Focused

Name me another game with such variety.

Ant the fact that this is OPTIONAL makes it even more perfect.

- Those here for the story are satisfied and get a nice, rich story without a hard grind.
- The ones who want a more hardcore experience are satisfied with TIER.
- If it gets too hard, TIER can be turned off easily and without any penalty or loss of progression

LOVE IT!! I don't know if I make it to TIER 1, especially after what Astran said. But the fact, that this game challenged my playstyle SO HARD, I had to switch it THREE TIMES makes it AWESOME.

Give the TIER Mode a chance. ;) It's not a "git gud" problem, you are good enough. Try switching tactics. ;)

:grwskull:

P.S. Sorry for the caps. I'm just excited. :)

yeah, the challenge is cool

the bad are the bugs and the cheating AI

The cheating AI - which always knows where I'm hiding - should be fixed in Breakpoint. They adressed this in the lviestream. Next ghost recon, everything gets better. But I'm going to miss my three muppets. :)

With increasing Tier level, the game locks the lower difficulty.
Tier 45 - Regular and above
Tier 40 - Advanced and Extreme
From Tier 35 onward, you are permanently locked on Extreme whenever you have Tier mode active. Not sure if the difficulty increases further for each Tier level, and the rewards quality is questionable. The only real interesting piece is the HTI BDC, the rest's cosmetic.
From what I "feel", the difficulty curve isn't so extreme, save the Xray-Vision AI and the lower player HP. A stealth headshot with a pistol will still kill most enemies in one hit.
Besides, reaching Tier 1 really becomes a slog from Tier 10 onward, since the XP requirements get six-digit.
