what are prestige credits? and what are there used for?

u can open create or if u play ghost war u can buy classes and weapons for the classes

How do I open crates? There are crates in this game?

Edit: I play this game for single-player and coop PvE I don't want to try pvp

Must be difficult actually seeing what prestige credits are and what they are used for when the game tells you everything you need to know.
