calculation in higher difficulty. There is bullet drop in Ghost Recon Wildlands; no windage adjustment. While you do not see a bullet cam leaving the muzzle, you do see a glowing dot exit the rifle in an arch. At around 200 meters you remain zeroed in and depending on the weapon and scope you use you can hit targets up to 600 meters in real time. I've hit targets at 850 meters but, depending on your rig and graphics set up, your targets may become invisible or harder to see. Enemies have a harder time detecting you if you crouch or go prone. If you're packing a suppressor they will probably not hear you if you fire from a distance farther than 200 meters. Missing a shot might make your target suspicious and missing follow up shots might send them looking for you at your last known position. In some cases they might try to hit you with mortar fire. Assault rifles and pistols are less loud than a .338 Lapua rifle (the MSR) or a .50 cal. You have the option to remove the suppressor at any time for added damage but you can later remove that set back as you level up. You may shoot down each enemy one by one using stealth from long range (my favorite approach), use melee at close range or go full LeRoy Jenkins at which point you draw full attention to yourself and become susceptible to endless waves of sicarios or military soldiers. If and when you play solo you will always have three companions who will kill designated targets marked by you and heal you if you get shot down. You can order them to stand down, move to a position, hold fire or fire at will, etc. If you have lots of patience, which many stealth/sniper games require, you will have a blast finding high spots from which to hone your ranging skills. The map is massive with jungle, desert and snow areas.
Most ppl that try to be the sniper in GRW actually blow most missions which will it make incredibly harder at Tier 1 mode.
The hardest thing is the high bullet travel time incl. a high bullet drop. Also at distance not all obstacles are rendered.
Easiest and safest approach is actually Assault rifle range at below 150m.
If you want to play mainly sniper, GRW won't be a game for you especially not at higher difficulties.
Enemies won't hear you fire with a Sniper Rifle at above 160m no matter if it has a silencer or not. But they might hear the impact of the bullet.
Yes you can play without AI teammates.
Yes there are stealth takedowns.
Yes sniper gameplay is great and viable.
Using a silencer and sniping a lone enemy, as long as no one sees his body, they won't suspect anything.
