Why I won't buy this game, even with the offer
A friend I game with just told me about the current Willdlands offer until July 9th. We were interested by the game, but since Denuvo is still inside the game, that's a non sale for us. Steam already has DRM incorporated for games, so have more layers of DRM added to it, that will cost us previous FPS and latency, is not acceptable. All games that have Denuvo removed have shown over 130 % increase in latency and quite a bump in FPS, and more editors have published new versions of their games after a few years with Denuvo removed. So unless that crap is removed from Wildlands, Ubisoft, you are losing a lot of sales. I understand the need for copy protection, but we, here, are paying customers. We know as we do that pirates are playing cracked copies of the game, with better FPS and latency than your paying customers. So perhaps you should realize that the money we earn, we are not going to spend foolishly. I was almost going to pay 35 euro to get the whole package on Steam.... and decided not to buy it and my friend won't either. So you already lost 2 sales, and maybe a lot more. Steam has DRM protection inside, so your game inside Steam should not have Denuvo crap installed. My PC is also used for development work being myself a developer (I do C, C++, D, C# and Java) and I have countless stories of game protections interfering with tools on my PC used for debugging and development (especially IDAPro and other tools for memory-leak analysis).

Why are you keeping Denuvo inside the game since it's been released for quite some time now, and Steam already offers DRM for buyers like us ?

I won't buy a game that adds any layer over Steam. Sorry.
I am a paying customer, being a developer I will not accept to use cracked games because I myself sell some of my software and seen cracked copies of mine (I have removed all copy protection since, as people not willing to pay won't anyway).

Fix this. Or keep losing sales. On this game, and any other future games.

If you don't want to play the game because of Denuvo then it is your loss, the game has clearly sold well enough so obviously people are not seeing an issue with Denuvo.

Denuvo came along due to people pirating games endlessly, so if you want someone to blame you can blame the people who download games and refuse to respect the developer.

If you want to miss out on an excellent COOP game in a big open world with guns (which there aren't that many of), then it is you + your friend's loss, I don't get why people come here to complain, nobody cares.

Yes, it's my choice. I got a lot of money, I'm spending some of it for games.
I won't spend any on any game that lowers FPS and latency to such levels you lose over 100 % of machine performance.

I won't buy a game even if a heckton of players do. I buy it because it would give me and my friends good coop and not spend my time with graphic issues, performance issues, crash to desktop issues, screen going black while game and sound keep playing.

I just spend some time checking UBI's support forum for this game, and people are having crashes with latest NVidia drivers, crash to deskop and other horrors, and I'm not seeing Ubisoft answer any of those posts are 2/3 weeks.

I don't spend my money on crap.

The forums here would be rammed with angry threads if people could not play the game and there would be news articles all over the Internet stating that Ubisoft have sold a game that nobody in the world is able to play due to Denuvo.

...right?

Game has been out for already 3 years, so I don't think they really care about sales any more. They are about to release GR Breakpoint soon so this game is done with updates I'd say.

As post above said you miss out on a great 4 coop open world game.

Sir, i know this is your opinion and I respect that. However, as the one who played both the cracked and the authentic version of the game along with other Ubisoft IPs, i would say that Denuvo is just a small part, the bigger issue is the engine itself as this Anvil Engine 2.0 has a not-very-good performance in term of optimization. This engine use up the GPU but not use CPU very well, only around 65-75%. Also, my friend in FPT university states that this engine also has the issue of focusing both the details of graphic and draw distance, which can cause sluttering and minor glitchings for effects including explosions, especially in highly detailed landscapes such as church or city overview. This is what happened when Ubisoft used this version of the engine for ACU for the first time.

Nobody cares if you buy it or not. I hate denuvo and it does cause problems and it should be removed. This game was cracked already and you can even get it in a repack but, you should have said something years ago not now. Why cry about it now?

Some pirate cracker removes Denuvo from the game, guess what? It only speed up loading times a bit and didn't increase FPS at all.

Then buy it directly from Uplay.

Ubisoft customer no service is a joke. I have logged 719 hours of play time and all of a sudden Ubisoft decides there is an authentication problem??? Since I have lousy internet (3Mbs) I was in the middle of playing when the game quit. I restarted and was told that there was a problem in authenticating ownership??? So now I sit and wait for uPlay to reload 95MBs of program to see if what I bought through Steam will work. Steam points at Ubisoft and Ubisoft doesn't listen. Would have been better off with a pirated copy. Same support.

thanks for writing a whole paper on why you are not buying this game, we really needed to know why you and your friends are not buying it, because im sure all of you are very important people in the gaming world

I can understand the OP's POV. And even respect it.
- I wouldn't buy an Uplay game on Steam anymore, anyway. I just buy Uplay games on Uplay. You can even scrape a couple of bucks from a game with earned Uplay points, if so desired.
- Principles aside, Denuvo is the least of your worries with this game. 😁
(Although I wouldn't mind if game companies would stop putting crap like this into their products, you are only negatively affecting the actual paying customers with it. Be it through simple annoyance to actually hurting performance.)

Ay my guy you too much. You can't afford Wildlands son, get outta here with that "I've got lots of money to spend on other games" like who do you think you're fooling? Complaining about a DRM solution whose developers state it has no effects on performance... Really?
