How to do stealth without enemy indicators?
After turning off minimap and enemy indicators in the HUD section, how am I supposed to do stealth properly? And with those off, what is the point of using drone to mark enemies?

Other than what I already said, all I have to say is:
1. Recon the whole area fist, know where all enemies patrol/station, locate all alarms, generator, and the jammer if you aren't going to destroy the generator.
2. Take out the alarms first, you don't want the problem of a helicopter shooting at you while you are being rushed by groups of enemy footsoldiers & vehicles should you set off the alarm.
3. If #1 is a problem because of a jammer, you may want to destroy the generator (or the jammer)(.50cals will explode them) then move and wait for them to come out of alert.
4. Watch each enemy for at least 10 seconds before shooting. Notice their routines/schedule of movement/head bob/bend over, etc. Fire immediately when they stop moving, or synchronized with head bob. You may shoot enemies moving toward/away from you, but don't chance it when they are moving perpendicular (unless you are very close).
5. Take out the snipers, if you don't they will see you.
6. Don't shoot enemies within about 15m of another enemy (they even see/hear through walls) unless you have someone sync-shotting the other(s). If you aren't sure, don't shoot.
7. Don't drop an enemy near the patrol path of another enemy, unless you are sure that enemy will not move within 15m of that body in the next 10 seconds.
8. Take out the outlying enemies first, going around the compound, reducing their numbers as much as possible without alerting them.
9. Then snipe the inner enemies that are isolated, when possible.
10. Sneak in around the rest, and get the objectives. Avoid any direct-sight lines, if necessary to be in a direct-sight line, move quickly but not fully standing, and don't let them see you for more than 1.5 seconds. If they "suspect," move somewhere else without being seen/heard.
11. When you have all your objectives, it doesn't matter if you are detected/die. Either try to Rambo them or run like H if there are enemies left, unless you can sneak back out - even better steal a helicopter (they usually won't do much damage before you can escape).

12. You WILL die, A LOT (assuming Extreme Tier difficulty).

Very, very carefully.
There's no point to marking enemies without HUD, but you can still scout with it and you must remember the enemy placements yourself. You can also still use sync shots if you're careful enough.
Fore stealth,. just walk real carefully and slowly. Hide on every corner and don't be hasty to shoot everything you see.

Edit: More tips: Listen to your friendly AI and whatever they say to make sure you're not approaching anything carelessly. If you're with another player, they can spot for you with their binoculars or drones while you advance stealthily.

Recently (sort-of) I started playing Extreme exclusively and now I tend to have trouble with running head-first into an ambush-like situation and get killed instantly. You must use drone to spot them or you do this and die constantly.

always go for the snipers first, then the entrance guard and then work clock or counter-clock-wise to the center.
Also the reason that many mess up is that they are to focuse trying to be a sniper. If you want to do it stealthy and safe you have to go in with a MP or AR and advanace dedicated and fast.

Thanks, I know how to do basic stealth though. My question is mainly, how to do stealth successfully without the enemy markers or minimap (which I have disabled through the HUD)

1: without hud you have no markers. you wont be able to see the enmeis afterwards anyways. So recon for enemy locations is more or elss senseless. you have to relay on speed and accuarcy that youc an rush through the base and get them befor they can alarm others.
3: you dont want to destroy the egnerator as this will alarm them that is somethign wrong. This will make the entire mission harder.
4: speed will the key without HUD. you cant monitor everything as you dont see markers.
6: hard to know this without HUD. Besides if you get clsoe you have to relay on speed anyways. you take one down and hit the others befor the raise the alarm.
10: you dont see if you get detected unelss its to late with compeltly disabled HUD

Marking enemies can still be useful with the markers turned off. It lets you know if you have seen that enemy already or not, which is useful for keeping track of the remaining number of enemies.

Using your binoculars or drone to learn and memorize the locations and patrol routes of the enemies. If you can remember where everybody is then moving around undetected is much easier since nobody will surprise you.

Yup. It's not that hard to remember things like 'an enemy goes in and out of that doorway.' 'One patrolling that wall.' 'One on that roof.' It also gives you a prioritized list of enemies to kill (first). Then, even if you alert them while nearby, this means you will be able to anticipate the directions they will approach from, critical info to know if things go sour. And should you need to make a sudden hasty retreat from inside or very near the compound, you know which way might be clear to run.

Moving in without knowing where they are is a recipe for disaster, as they often see you before you see them, sometimes flanking you, and kill you before you can swing your gun around no matter what gun you are using. You need to be ready, with your gun already aimed in their direction/altitude.

@tacoshy I'm sure your technique works for you (on your difficulty level), but for many like myself we NEED to use stealth/snipe, not to mention I prefer that method. Personally I don't want players joining me who "Rambo it" ("run 'n gun"), and for that reason I'm not accepting your friend request, sorry.
