It's not easy, I can tell you that.

I pulled it off solo on one step below extreme difficulty (forget what it's called) after trying about 10 times. I found that dancing around the two trees next to the ammo cache was helpful as they absorb the blast from his ranged shoulder gun attack. Any tree will work, of course, but I prefer to stay close to the ammo box as the Predator is bullet sponge.

You just have to keep avoiding his attacks while slowly chipping away at his health. He has a lot of it, so you'll have to shoot for a while. I also found that thermal vision, if you have that unlocked, helps in locating him quicker when he uncloaks and is readying his attack.

If you get caught in the open when he shoots at you, just keep sprinting perpendicular to him and kind of curve towards him as the projectile approaches, similar to how you would avoid a SAM missile in a helicopter. It's not easy and it didn't always work for me but you can survive being stuck without cover.

Best of luck to you. You'll soon find that fighting him is just a pattern that you have to memorize. The face paint is awesome, and I wish I had that right arm tattoo for beating him without reviving anyone, but I don't even know how to join a task force for that one.
call in rebels if you habe them, use them as bait and constanty run around cover, did it on extreme, pro.tip if you are doing this alone....dont care about the ai, when the predator targets them, you shoot
Me and my friend are stuck on it aswell. wanna group and help?
can anyone please help me to finish that f****ing predator ???
me and the wife are on it as well. we have placed mines all over the area and they seem to help alot
it would be so great if anyone can help to build a group for this Quest. Please contact me ;-)
ubisoft btw
Before entering the AO prep up:
1. Bring capacity rich weapons (AR + LMG)
2. Call in rebel distraction on top of the ammo box with your drone (Cannon fodder)
3. Call in rebel reinforcements (cannon fodder)

Predator Behavior:
1. He cloaks and displaces for an ambush
2. He'll run and stop near your group sometimes displacing again, other times attacking
3. He'll aim with his laser before firing
4. He'll target rebels as well as Ghosts
5. His attack patterns become more frequent as he gets closer to death

Tactics:
1. The hill with the ammo box is a death sentence. You won't be able to rez buddies in cover if someone goes down and predator will pick you off as you pick up your friends.
2. Let predator target the rebels. Stay in cover until you hear him shooting AI then pop up for a quick shot.
3. Hug the tree and bamboo clusters. He can't hit you through trees. If you see a laser on you run as fast as you can around the objects to block his fire. This also provides cover for rez.
4. The ammo box is bait. Don't camp next to it. If you need ammo wait for predator to displace then sprint the box and get back to cover ASAP.
5. It's easier to kill him at night as night vision exposes him as he runs increasing your opportunity for attack. There's a small window of opportunity for damage while he runs.
6. Don't square off with predator. If he targets you, run. If you know you're going down, try to die in cover so one kill doesn't turn into 4 trying to get rez.
7. Spread out. His fire does area damage and will drop your whole team if you're huddling.
8. Be the predator no the prey. The more you move the more exposed you are. He'll be harder to see as your own movement aids his camoflage. Stay calm and stay in cover. Let him come to you.
Just in case no one mentioned it yet - if you need to reload your weapons then quickly run to the ammo crate, pick up ammo then get out of there.
I can help, was my second mission after i picked up the game while on extreme. I found it easy.
Beating him solo with the bots and rebels seemed easier than in a group of 3, stay in the depression around the 2 trees near the ammo crate and wait for him to come in range, it takes a fair amount of hits to defeat him so you need to be patient. When he is near death his attacks become more frequent and concentrated in a smaller area.

I had the same experience. This worked for me too. I just stand still and listen. I only move when the laser is on me.

Agreed. This strategy works and I also had a harder time with live people than AI.

I just did it with some friends to help them complete it after I had finished it twice on my own. My buddies are great players so it wasn't skill level. I think it's just because the AI handles downs automatically and they move with you so the environment is easier to read. When playing with real people you have to focus on them on top of everything else which adds variables to an already challenging task.
Took me prob 20+ tries soloing it. I found a tree and kept moving around it with my thermals on. Everytime i saw his laser on me i moved around the other side of the tree. I used a LMG so i wouldn't have to use the ammo refill and called in guns for hire and diversion for npc backup before entering the mission area.

During the battle the predator will attack the npc's and your party. Giving you time to quickly find him and attack before he disappears. Every single attempt. My party and npc's were down before the predator died. So be prepared to do this alone towards the end.

Don't rez your npc unit. i noticed the predator goes out of his way to kill healers. player or npc. That being said, when one of your unit downs and another tries to rez, have that guy's back as the predator will most likely try to get a cheap kill on the healer.

If the predator can't find any targets to lock on too he will use his disc which attacks through cover. So be prepared to move. He will continue to do this until he has a target. All you have to do is move a bit but this is absolutely deadly to brainless npc's and will chop down your potential decoy's fast.

I assume damage plays no part in this battle. Before my LMG i used a high power rifle and both weapons took me the same time to take the predator out. It might be based on a time limit. Like he drops out of stealth to attack so many times before you can actually perform a kill shot. So forget one hit kills and stick to something that requires less skill but produces more hits like an LMG or assault.

On a side note i noticed many times, my npc unit would leave the battle to attack santa blanca patrolling the docks near the mission area, So you might want to spend a little extra time wiping those guys out before picking a fight with the predator.
