Wildlands won't launch
Hey guys, my computer just updated a couple nights ago and ever since then Wildlands has refused to launch. I've tried verifying the files, launching as admin and even reinstalling the game from scratch. Nothing seems to work. It shows the splash box for half a second then doesn't launch. Anyone have a fix for this?

Hey Spoocifer, Here are a few steps you can try to get Wildlands to run.

1) Go to install path: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\ GhostRecon
2) Right-click and select properties for ghost.exe
3) Go to "Compatibility" tab
4) Select the following:
- run compatibility under Windows XP SP3
- check the "Disable display scaling"
- check the "Run this prog as admin"

5) Apply settings and start the game using the executableGhost.exe

Based on the information you provided, I would go ahead and reach out to Ubisoft Support as they will be better equipped to help you resolve the issue from this point.

I tried all of the above and I'm still getting the "not compatible for windows, reinstall" error. Thank you though, I'll try to reach out Ubisoft Support. It seems like a lot of people are having the same issue as me. Hopefully they'll release a patch since it's affecting so many.

Mine is crashing instantly and gives this. Windows 10 just fully updated and I have done a clean install of Nvidia drivers 388.13

That's the same thing I'm getting too. I've been working with ubisoft for two days now with no luck. I've safe booted my pc, I've disabled all start up programs, disabled antivirus and a dozen other things. Still nothing on my end. Let me know if you figure anything out.

try deleting the GRW.ini and start the game, it should ( should ) make a new one at default settings, might be some weird setting conflict

As in the GRW application file in the wildlands folder, right? I did that and it recreated the file but it still won't start up. Strange. Thanks though.

That didn't get it either. I think the game is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with me out of spite at this point. Ubi told me to reinstall windows and I'm not so sure that's worth it. I think it'll just keep happening unless there's a patch if it's because of the W10 update.

I fixed my issue my deleting GFSDK_TurfEffects.win64.dll and then Veryfing integrity

I ended up having to reinstall windows completely for some reason. But that got it working atleast. Kind of a big thing to do just for one game.

Having just said that, I played the game a few times and now it's stuck on the splash screen. Hooray. Guess I'll try uninstalling some updates and if that doesn't work, ♥♥♥♥ it.

No, I wasn't using crossfire. I finally fixed my issue by deleting a new security update with windows 10. It's been running fine ever since. It seems there's just a million little random things that can go wrong with it.
