No, that's just my playing style. It seems to set depending on how you play...
Oh, I die an awful lot more now than I used to, but fine with that as I'm now also much more careful most of the time.
As to the grind, guess depends on what you mean by that. I'm more than happy to go collecting all the medals, intel and weapons cases...
Sicarios spraying into the darkness with deadly accuracy nailng you from 50 feet away
Carrying no body armor and being able to continue walking after 3 rounds in the chest from an mk 17? One 7.62×51mm NATO round in the chest is enough to do the job...
Not to mention AI ability to see you in pitch dark despite you having camo.
There's challenging and then dumb.
After a while it's simply dumb.
Make a quick prayer to RNGesus before each raid and hope for the best lol.
Apart from what others have said such as god like aim time and your health being pretty much non existant etc one thing I did notice is my detection was a lot higher.
All this forces you to slink around in the shadows and pretty much destroys any fun to be had in gunships but thats the price you pay for a tier number past 36 I guess.
Yeah when it hits extreme it definitely ramps up the response.
The entire process is circuler to the point that you upgrade weapons to be able to use them in this mode and the only reason you need to upgrade them in the first place is becaue you are playing in this mode.
And to top things off when you reach the magical "tier 1" rank there is nothing waiting for you to enjoy. You are still stuck on extreme difficulty and this at the very least should be your reward to be able to select your difficulty in tier 1 mode and still be able to upgrade your weapons and use them at any difficulty.
Also im still getting 1k tier points for every truck I take down which serves no purpose at all now. Rewards per convoy should be the 17k of that resource and transfer the 1000 tier points into 1000 of each supply as a bonus.
Just a miner gripe this one but still worth mentioning I think, UBI has gone to great trouble to create a nice & indepth weapon modding system for us and then with the addition of this mode they just went ahead and destroyed it for at least one of my weapons by adding a big yellow 1 hitting rifle that makes all other hvy snipers obsolete.
I would rather they buff the standard HTI to same dmg levels or made the Desert Tech paintable.
All this aside at least they have not done what they have done with siege and after 2 years just decide out of the blue that you cant earn any meaningful rewards at all playing solo so thanks for that at least wildlands devs.
Once I finally got around to finishing off Tier mode and got to level 1 I shut it off completely, only put it back on when I see other Tier users who are lower then me trying to grind XP and such. Otherwise there is absolutely zero benefit to go into it aside from the Bad News assault rifle which arguably is the best in the game, but ultimately ruined by the fact that you can't modify any weapons that you earn.
The system was faulty from the very beginning and Ubisoft hasn't done a single thing to fix or even modify the system to make it less painful.
