Hitman is by square enix, and it was always online on steam as well.

My mistake. Thanks, i think i confused Edios with Ubisoft.
I would wait until release, or at least system requirements are published. If it lists an internet connection, then that's a red flag!

Why would that be a "red flag" exactly? Other than the people who want to play it when travelling, I dont see any problem with it requiring an internet connection to play.

A red flag for, y'know, the topic. As in, if you have a problem with always being online (like I do), then it's a red flag.

And here I am asking again literally the same question, why is that a red flag? You obviously have access to the internet after all.

It's a red flag indicating that there could be an always online component. Always online games on Steam always list an internet connection in their system requirements because (surprise!) in order to play the game, the system is required to have an internet connection! So, if like myself and the OP, an always online requirement is an issue for you, then listing an internet connection as required is a red flag. I literally cannot make this clearer.

Obviously, but how do you know I'm always online?

No it has an off-line mode. You can play solo and you will be supported by those AI teammates.

Let me see if I can make this any more clear...

WHY IS IT SUCH A PROBLEM EXACTLY TO HAVE IT CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET WHEN YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET?! RATHER THAN SAYING ITS A RED FLAG OVER AND OVER, GIVE ME AN EXACT REASON AS TO W-H-Y IT"S A RED FLAG!!

Military people can't always connect - or like a friend of mine - is still using a satellite connection because they actually don't have any other ISP.

Regardless....

Do we need to connect online to play the game or is an off-line mode available?

I've already told you why it's a red flag. It's presence means the conditional probability of the game being always online is increased.

As for your tangential and rather rude inquiry into my personal life, I'll just say it's none of your business, and definitely not worth you busting your last remaining brain cell.
