British Special Forces Loadouts
Hi guys,

Looking for some input from someone who is an expert on Uk Special forces, and there load out's.

Specificaly - out of each class of weapons in game, what would most reflect modern UK SF load outs. i.e S.A.S and such?

which Assualt rifle, Sub Machine, LMG, Sniper would best relfect his.

thanks in advance.

P.S i realise that the exact weapons might not be in game, but a best guess would be appriciated.

SAS itself uses
  • C8 carbine. The Regiment's primary assault carbine. ...
  • M16 & variants. 5.56mm rifle / carbine. ...
  • HK G3. 7.62mm battle rifle used by UKSF. ...
  • HK G36. ...
  • HK MP5. ...
  • MAC-10 SMG...

a few of them, are in the game.

Deimos Apr 2, 2017 @ 3:57pm
is C8 in game? i cant see it.

no there's no c8 in game. you can just use m4a1 and think it as c8. and i'm pretty sure SAS feel the same way.

I'm partial to British loadouts, so I've been running these setups in the game (choose your attachments as you see fit):

Assault rifles: L85A2 is the obvious choice. The ACOG or Digital Scope are the best choices if you want be as realistic as possible. Otherwise choose the G36 or an AR platform rifle (M4A1, P416, R5 RGP). UKSF does utilize the Colt Canada C8 (just M4A1s built in Canada), and the Royal Marine Commandos have considered switching to that over their L85s.

SMGs: The MP5 has been used by UKSF for decades. I like it because of the customization, but it is a little low on the damage dealt (well placed headshots alleviate this). Two other options are the MP7 and C1. Although only in official service with the MoD Police, the MP7 has phenomenal maneuverability with the right setup. The C1 has great accuracy and damage in my experience, but has a slower rate of fire and can't use a suppressor. The former can again be fixed by aiming for headshots.

LMGs: This one is tough if you're trying to stick to realism. Your best choice would be the MK48. British forces use its parent model, the Minimi/M249 SAW extensively. The MK48 deals high damage and can be accurate by firing in bursts. Also if you fully invest in the VHC Destruction skill, it's one of the most efficient weapons to take out any vehicles, just behind the 6P41 in terms of sheer damage. Alternatives include the MG121 or the Type 95 (just think of it as the cheap Chinese knockoff of the L86!).

Sniper Rifles: Depends on whether you prefer bolt-action rifles or DMRs. If bolt-action, then the L115A3 is the clear choice. If DMRs, then go with the SR25 or G28 (both have similar models in service with the British Armed Forces).

Shotguns: SPAS-12 or Super Shorty by default. I doubt British forces would use the Russian-made SASG-12.

Pistols: M9, P227, SMG 11, or P12. Similar models have been utilized at some point in time before.

Pick any paint you like, but I think the Ubisoft Club exclusive "Torn Edge" pattern reminds me of the older, desert version of DPM. Either that or Multicam to mimic the newer uniform, either for your weapons or character.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! Spent much of my formative years pouring over military books. I'm half-British, half-American myself, raised on both sides of the pond. Would love the opportunity to go back!

want to thank you again, just an awesome array of options now with your informed post!

im now head to toe, in multicam colours with UK flags and patches!

felt kinda stuck before with just L8 and C36C, with mp5 sub.

now i feel like i have 6 genuine assualt rifle options!! changed my set up totally with your advice

i am now running with R5 Assualt rifle, MP7 sub, MK-48, sr25 and P227 side arm. i feel liberated lol

great that i can mix it up now thanks to your post

LEGEND!

want to ask... is there's absolulty no way i can justify running a PSG sub, being a mini m4 platform? love the look of it.. but wont use it if it doesnt make sense in a UK loadout?

thanks so much

Anything I can do to help someone else! And the PSG sub? I'm sure like with most other groups, UKSF has much more leeway with the equipment they use, either to match the mission or just the operator's preference. Go crazy with what you want!

Interesting read, my copy is downloading.
Being Aussie, our loadouts would be similar to your SF wouldn't they?
SASR we have, same thing from what I understand.
That or a TAG-E or W loadout.

I looked into it. You're right, it's nearly the exact same loadout as the British. The only real difference here is the extra choice of the AUG assault rifle.
