Detonating C4?

How do you detonate ONE C4? I have two, if I place one, the next time I hit "G" it places another one, THEN I can detonate both. Would just like to lay one down and detonate. What am I missing?

You hold "G" again to detonate all the C4 you've placed

If you hold "G" after placing the first, it detonates that one and you can save the second one for another time.

Tap G to place, hold it to detonate. Doesn't matter the post was seven years old; new players will have the same question...duh! I really hate guys who harsh on newcomers, like, what? They were friggin' experts the first time that they played the game? Ash-holes all.

Hood, winshield, tailgate....c4 sticks in alot of places
