Save Game Data Gone
Just lost 8 hours of Data, played it last night, game data stored locally but suddenly - on starting the game via my Uplay Linked account, I get a whole new "Introduction" startup to the game and at the main menu I only have the option for "New Campaign". It was working fine last night when I got off, and had no problems even after multiple game crashes at different times.

Thanks Ubisoft. I've no clue what happened here.

The savegame loss just happened to me, as well.
I got myself another solution:

NOTE: Of course, GRW should be shut down while you work. Also "GRW" means "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" - Just to get this clear.
Savegame folder location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\YOUR_ID\3559

Solution #1
There are 4 savegame files in the folder.
MOVE the files to a save location (eg. a new folder on your desktop). IMPORTANT do NOT copy them!
Now copy the MOVED files back into the savegame folder (this is important to ensure the possibility of Solution #2).
See if one of the files could still be intact and delete the not intact ones.
Now turn off Cloud Synch in Uplay and start the game.

If you get your game progress back turn on Cloud Synch while still in the game and close GRW afterwards.
Just to be sure you should change something ingame (eg the weapon loadout) so that the game has a change to actually save.
Be sure that Uplay actually synchs the save files and you should be good to go.

If this did not work for you the following could do the trick:

Solution #2
NOTE: Be sure to work with the original (non-copied), "broken" files. Again, be sure to have a backup!
Repeat the following steps for every single save file you have:
Right click > Properties > Previous Versions
If there is one select it, press on "Copy" and put it into the savegame folder.
Be sure to not overwrite the existing version or you'd have to undo the steps.
After you've done this with all the existing save files go into Uplay settings and disable Cloud Synch.
Now start the game.

If you get your game progress back turn on Cloud Synch while still in the game and close GRW afterwards.
Just to be sure you should change something ingame (eg the weapon loadout) so that the game has a change to actually save.
Be sure that Uplay actually synchs the save files and you should be good to go.

I really hope this will help one or two people out.
It took some time to write all this down, but I am currently happy that I found a way to restore my ~65% campaign progress and want to help you guys out to maybe save yours, too.

Let's hope people actually read this post on page 3... >.<

I didn't have Cloud Save sync until just a moment ago - I figured i would have a fallback if it happens again so I just turned it on. Absolutely nothing done last night to suggest that my save should have disappeared. Something ♥♥♥♥♥ here.

Yeah it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crap, I got a response from Ubisoft support- i'll put what they told me here, so far it's helped

Ubisoft support put this for me -
1. Disable Cloud Sync in Uplay
2. Delete save folder
3. Start game and create new character.
4. Do some stuff, get auto saved and quit the game
5. Enable sync in Uplay again
6. Start the game, It will prompt you with a choice between the local savegame and the cloud save game from the sync.
7. Choose local savegame.
8. You can now continue playing without having to create a new char again

Same here, lost my save after completing almost the entire game. I tried the above solution, but it seems Ubisoft has gotten rid of my original save entirely, I still have the original save, but nothing I do let's the game access the save.

Yeah - I had to start over from scratch, the above steps actually tell you to do that & I was pretty much told that I cant get my old save back.

I am pretty sure the only reasons our save files are even corrupted is because Ubisoft released a bunch of the add-ons that were supposed to be in the game from the start. There was that minibus skin notification that appears in the game, which I never had since the game was released even though I have the gold edition.

gg is all i can say, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ubisoft at it again
Maybe if you backup your save game that is on your pc and put it to another location on your hdd and that way you will always have a backup. I'm still looking for where the game saves at on the hdd.

According to Ubi - C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\*.*\3559

There is a tool you can download that backups game saves. But regardless, this isn't even the first time I have lost a save on a Ubisoft game.

Can someone please share their save data? I had more than 30hrs in game...lost it all.
Would appreciate if someone could share...!!

Thanks

If you add me and pm me your email, I'll upload my save files to a dropbox and share it with you.
