Launching on wrong monitor.
Anybody else have this issue? So both monitors and video cards I'm using are the same. In game only one monitor shows up...so there is no option to change it there. I tried changing around video card settings, even changing the hdmi cords on the monitors. Still launches on the wrong screen. I went into the .ini (though I don't know much about editing .ini's) and changed the launch monitor to 0 (it's currently set to 1). The only way I've found to play the game on my main monitor is to disable my second.

Pretty sure you can change it in the options in the menu to switch from monitor 1 2 or 3

Only one monitor is coming up in the in game menu. I did however figure out how to fix it. On the nvidia control panel, you just have to select the Configure Surround, PhysX tab under 3D Settings. Once there I changed my PhysX settings to video card 2 (which runs my main monitor). Hope this helps somebody else.

If you only have one of multiple monitors show up, either Windows doesn't properly detect it or you are using multiple GPUs.

Anything else doesn't make sense.

right click your desktop and select display settings
identify the monitor you want the game to run on, select it and tick the 'make this my main display' box and then apply

you need to disable all monitors then the main, then the game does start on the correct. ALT Tab out of the game, reactiveate them again. Game is still on the correct screen until next start. Last update did make that mess. no other way around that issue yet.

Same issue.
I have 3 monitors, the two side ones are on a GT740 and the middle on a GTX970.
The game always launches on the right monitor.
The game only shows options for the monitors connected to the GT740.
If I disable all displays on the GT740 and launch then it launches on the middle monitor attached to the GTX970.
Of course this squishes all my widgets and icons onto the middle display, which is highly annoying.

I can then re-enable the GT740 monitors and its fine until I close the game again.

Hope they fix this soon.

Go here and edit this grw.ini to include your other monitors. It's on Google how to do it, bro.

So...it's August and this bug still isn't fixed? Identical monitors, identical GPUs and still forces the game to run on my second monitor (claiming it's the first). Do they just not fix bugs at all?
JACKSin Aug 11, 2017 @ 9:10pm
That's not a game bug. Try connecting both monitors to the same gpu and make sure that's set as the main gpu, either through the nvidia control panel or your windows settings. Or do what the op said, change the default gpu to the one connected to the monitor you want you use.

A little off topic but sort of related: Once you have the above sorted, try running the game on borderless window (which makes vsync unneeded and saves fps) then you can just press shift windows arrow to move between monitors.

alternatively to all this file editing.....you can hold windows key + shift + left (or right) arrow key to move an application to another monitor...I'm not 100% sure if this works with actual fullscreen, or just borderless fullscreen though

Tech Support needs to help everyone individually? why not just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix it, or is Ubi-Devs no longer competent enough to pull a simple DX11 Display Adapter coding? Vulkan? ANYTHING?

Absolutely, hilariously, incompetent.
No wonder this game tanked in value.

2024/03/06 i have same problem.
Why game launches on a 2nd monitor/GPU instead using main monitor/GPU?
Does developers cant fix simple code or something?
Why should i need to go & try changing settings on "GRW.ini" file & still wont work.
I change "OutputMonitor=from 0 to 1 or 2 & MainMonitor= from 0 to 1 or 2" & game wont launch.
But when i change to 0 it launches to 2nd gpu/monitor.

Edit: Sold my 2nd gpu so only using 1 gpu at this moment.
