Game crashes to desktop
I have this problem where my Game crashes to the desktop.
Ive googled quite a bit and found that other people are also having this issue.

The game runs for 1-5 minutes (rare cases even longer) but then it just crashes. No crash report or anything like that it just shuts down and saves my progress.

Ive got a GTX 1080 and lowering my Graphics doesnt change anything. Ive tried everything I can come up with.

Anyone heard anything or had the same issue?

Yup. i even have similar specs. game crashes randomly without warning by first freezing then CTD. took me 4 hours of restarts and playing last night to complete one mission. gonna try a re-install and see if that helps.

I'm having the same problem. I've got a PC and a Laptop and on both of them I can play maybe 5 or 10 minutes before it crashes to desktop. The game runs great on both machines. Just going along smooth and boom I'm at the desktop.

I've tried lowering all my settings to the minumum and putting my resolution to the lowest to mid range with no changes.

All my drivers are updated to their latest and I have no programs running in the background that should interfear with it.

First game I've ever played that worked better in beta, had none of these problems then.

I have uninstalled both the game and uplay.
Thing is that even when I make a clean install I have corrupt files according to the "verifier"....

I have been stubborn and keep trying to play. I have had something strange happen every now and then. When I hit map it sometimes pops up a message saying wrong game version and when I hit ok it closes to desktop. I’m going to uninstall the game and make sure the directory is removed to. Then I'll do a reinstall and see what happens.

I'm running Windows 10.

My video cards on my pc are two GTX 750 in SLI configuration and my laptop has a GTX 970m.

I really don't think it is a video card problem since both have totally different specs and it is doing the same thing.

From what i hear the nividea driver is supposed to be out by friday. Let's hope the driver can fix these issues.

*Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Probably not the issue...BUT, I had my pc for one year no issues ever with any game. Doom 2016 came out. Game crashed constantly no errors same exact problem. Tried everything literally.... finally last piece i checked my CPU i got a new one and sent my old one back (was still under warrenty) anyways it was my CPU memory controller (part of the cpu) anyhow its a very rare issue supposably. But depending how how some games handle the memory getting passed round your system can cause issues. This was the case for DOOM and since I got my replacement no more issues. So if you can not figure this out and you try everything, I would atleast give it a go!

okay it cant crash simply . If you have right drivers

Try to re-check the files or move it to different steam library and re-install it. Not a re-downlaod though.

I was able to fix my problem, I believe it was a corrupt day one patch that did it. I did a file verification on my laptop and it found 4 files corrupt. It did a 4 gig download and repaired them. On my pc I just uninstalled and reinstalled. Was able to play all last night with no problems.

Hope everyone finds a solution.

Identical experience. Was fine in the closed beta and in day 1. Going to try the reinstall

I had the same issue (Crashing EVERY 10mins), and it wasnt a driver or hardware issue for me. To fix this, open Steam, right click on GR:W, select "Properties", then "verify files". Downloaded the necessary missing files and never crashed since.

(GTX 960 4GB OC, 8GB RAM, i5 2400)
