Extremely underrated
I bought this title for a quite cheap price (NVIDIA redemption code for Uplay version) and am absolutely loving it.

I mainly bought it to see how my new 1080Ti would run this notoriously demanding title.....but now I'm just addicted to playing lol.

Admittedly I'm still in the honeymoon period, about 15 hours in, and yes the gameplay loop is repetitive, but it's just so much damn fun imo.

It obviously isn't a flawless title, but I think a lot of the time Ubisoft titles get hate just because that's what in vogue.

I also think it's visually stunning for the most part. I play at 1440p, everything on ultra excepting shadows (very high) and have it locked to 60fps on a 144hz monitor. Performance is stable at 60fps 99% of the time. So I can't really complain about any performance issues either, although I admittedly have a very capable PC.

Bottom line is this title really surprised me in a good way, and even if it gets old and I stop playing it at the 30/40 hour mark I consider it a very sound purchase.

Yep a ton of fun. You're right tho hate's in vogue. I haven't even seen any bugs worth mentioning,

I'm running a 2560 x1060P at 144 hz and it's smooth. I run some at ultra and others at high but the difference to go to ultra isn't a big deal.

I'm taking my time doing all the side quests and just rolling into towns to fight so I don't blow through the game. Just 39 hours in and stll on the 2nd map.

One of the best games ever tho Fallout 3&4 are right up there.

Glad to see I'm not the only one enjoying the hell out of it, looking at just the forums etc and you'd think the game was some horrendous abomination. :-)

game is great but too easy even in the hardest difficulty. Hope they add a harder mode for ONLY stealth approach

This game is in no way what i expected from a Tom Clancy game like "Splinter Cell" or "Pandora Tomorrow". It's very clear to me this is a "Far Cry Number 4+1/2". I loved to play Far Cry but it's different from Tom Clancys stories and i love to get what's on the label. "Ghost Recon" is exactly the kind of brain-dead shooter you know from all the Far-Cry-Games: Try to hide and shoot and kill. Don't expect any challenge how to solve a problem. You move around on a large-scale-environment using cars, boats, planes, helis, and you always try to hide but most often you will fail and then try to shoot-em-all. Interaction with environment is really poor for a game designed for 2017. Want to open a door? A window? No. Static. Crash a wall? No. Shoot through a wooden door or fence? No. Absolutly no difference to the "good old Far Cry engine" (whatever it's engine-name it was many years ago). Anyway, if you like to see great mountain landscapes and like to hide and shoot, this is your game. Costed me 59€ and is worth approx 15€. Two of five stars. If it was pubished as "Far Cry" i would give 3 stars, but i feel publishing it as "Tom Clancys" is not honest, even if Tom Clancy may have witten the story.

No, I mean exactly what I said.

If you look at Metacritic, this title received (on PC) a aggregate critical score of 69/100. That was from 31 reviews, 15 of which were positive, 14 mixed, and 2 negative. So in essence, over half the reviews were mixed or negative.

Looking at user reviews there, from 336 reviews it's aggregate score is 6.3.

My opinion stands that the game is underrated, and deserves a score more around the 8-8.5 range.

Your criticisms are more understandable, and I admit for those who had a certain level of expectation based on the branding of the product it most likely would have been disappointing. I didn't have any such expectations and was pretty happy to simply get a squad based Far Cry, or Far Cry 4.5 as you put it :-)

I think Ubisoft definitely should have just called the title Wildlands, or something else stand-alone so as to not link it to the Tom Clancy/Ghost Recon name.

There are some annoying bugs, such as falling through the ground and dying, and the EMP not always working. Though the game is a ton of fun, spent an hour last night with a friend just stealing planes, Trophy Truck's, ect. and failing, lol, it's fun when you get halfway down the runway and your plane takes off sideways over the SAM sites, and your trying (laughably) to dodge missiles, and ground fire, getting shot down/crashing just to do it over again until.......you finally succeed!!

At one time my friend landed in the rocks on a hill (somehow)and got the plane stuck, and he kept getting different vehicles to try to push the plane loose, we got it free after 4 hilarious attempts, just to have civvies block it in with their vehicles. We finally took off but my friend...not the best pilot.....clipped a cliff and tore the wing forcing us to land.....! we just like to ♥♥♥♥ around like that once in a while, can't take the game too seriously, then it's no fun!

The downvotes are probably there is no replay value when the reviews are made. The challenges are only added few months after the game releases.

You can also look at it a bit different, 31 reviews which 29 where mixed or positive and ONLY 2 negative.

But i think the rating is because of no replay value when completed the main game,
and ofc all DLC (NR and FG) you need to make a new character (one started at 20 and one at 30 with both fixed skill points already spend) and all progress is seperated from the main game, also NR has no new weapons and gameplay is completely different then Wildlands main game and i mean NR feels like a GTA cloned gameplay and that doesnt fit inside a GR title like Wildlands, I said before in my review of NR "You drive Monster trucks through the jungle of bolivia doing time trials and stunts to get followers .... think thats enough said about what this DLC is all about." and think that sums up everything that NR stands for.

But dont get me wrong, the main game is great, only if you finished it there isnt much to do at all

ps.

my setup is I5-6500 @ 3.2GHz, 16GB, GTX 960 installed on SSD and running at 5040*1050 all on High and with around 50fps, so i cant complain
