What the hell is up with Ubisoft and port forwarding...
Seriously do they not optimize their ports for all services? Am I missing something here. I have never needed to tweak my freaking modem settings except for Ubisoft games and their reply is always like “it’s fine you just need to tweak router settings, which the average consumer knows nothing about, it’s an easy fix, not even a problem it’s intended” what the hell... with most games you just have to worry about hardware but Ubisoft game i say “gee wiz, I sure hope the game I payed 79 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 99 won’t reject my internet service to the point I have to call up service provider to check up and set optimal ports to a stupid video game. :steamsalty:

I’m playing the game on the ps4 and getting the same connectivity errors that I got on the division. Although both are in theory good games I could not enjoy them to their potential since I cannot connect to the servers without forwarding my ports, I just simply don’t understand how this issue seems to lie on the users hands. Shouldn’t the game have been optimized with all network providers? Why do I have to fix the game.

I do appreciate that, it just depends on too many variables that are generally outside of the developers control. How Internet Service Providers operate, the network between them and your location and the hardware you use to connect to the internet can all be very different.

Port forwarding is a common networking procedure for various games, software and applications. It just ensures that any potential conflicts are eliminated and network traffic is handled correctly.

Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Alot of people, myself included, have been able to play this game with 0 issues, I'm not bragging or trying to be a ♥♥♥♥ I'm just saying dont be so quick to blame the dev's for a problem that is clearly on your end, think. Good Luck though!

I wasn’t expecting any more replies but anyhow, that’s great the game works flawless for you, I truly am but disagree that it works well for a lot of people, including me, clearly I’m not the only person with this issue. Many of my friends seem to run into similar issues having difficulties getting the game online. If I can run all the games out but for some reason have to tweak modem settings for one particular game I find it hard to believe the problem lies on me.

Same here! A good number of people have that issue as well.
I also have a "closed" NAT with everything Ubisoft (For Honor, Steep) and it is extremely annoying when I can't connect with my friend.

To make it worse, I don't have a static IP and my ISP doesn't provide one so I can't port forward.
Only Ubisoft is the one that won't let me connect out of literally every other game out there!!
I can't help but feel Ubisoft is also the one to blame here :(

I'm not trying to sound rude to you but have you tried connecting a LAN cable to your router to your pc I've done this and I've had very rare issues with wifi for the game

I've long fixed my problem via port forwarding, which always fixes these kinda issues, but my problem is it's 2019 and this is still the fix to these issues. (And only seem to run into these issue on ubisoft servers)

I do agree with you it is pretty ridiculous that this issue that should've been patched a long time ago still exists. However I am glad that you were able to troubleshoot the issue man
