Steep
STARTING GAME: There was a problem authenticating the ownership of this product.
Just downloaded game that i had bought from steam and will not load, i have linked my Uplay Account to my Steam account and this message just keeps showing when it tries to bind the steam version to Uplay.
Help, have been trying to get this working for around 2 hours now. Tried everything, It just seems Ubisoft doesn't trust that I've bought this game.

Hey Razicial, sorry to hear of this.

The error message means you're logged in to Uplay PC with a different Ubisoft account than the one you used to activate your game. Please double check you're logging in with the correct account before launching Steep.

I have logged into both of my know ubisoft accounts and still no luck, just getting the same message. is there a way i can transfer the game onto my current account. just really want to get this sorted as soon as possible.

We may be able to look in to that but we'd need to locate the original account that has the game associated with it.

In order to investigate this further, please submit a Support case and include any of your known email addresses and usernames. Let me know the case number once you create it.

i have not received an email on the accounts i've checked. if it is the first email i listed then i no longer have access to it, which is why i created the other one with the same name just a number after.

all i want is to be able to play my game, its been over a week and i have just been very frustrated that such a simple thing is taking so long to happen. why is this so complicated for everyone.

Apologies for the delayed response, Razical.

I can see that the team got back to you to ask you for some further details around your game. If you can provide when with that, then they can continue to assist you with that.

Unfortunately our support staff here are only able to provide assistance in English. If you are able to provide a translation of this, then we can take a look at it for you.

I am experiencing the same problem. Can you help me?

I had bought a game (Rainbow Six Siege) from steam and it won`t load. I have linked my Uplay Account to my Steam account and the message "There was a problem authenticating the ownership of this product." just keeps showing when it tries to bind the steam version to Uplay.

Ubisoft Support can perform game transfers only in exceptional circumstances, and only ever as a courtesy. Transferring a game means losing all progression, in-game items, save data and in-game currency (etc).

If you'd like us to investigate the possibility of transferring your game, please contact us using one of the methods stated by my colleague Baron just above your recent posts.
