What are points of interest?

Ok I'm in the game for more than 10+ but still didn't understand what point of interests are and how to unlock them. Little help?

Just fly over them like drop points to unlock em, but they dont show up like drop zones do.

They act like fast travvel points i think, similar to drop zones. Let you start in more places without using a heli :)

PS they are usually like little towns/buildings or those green glacier formations. Grab the rocket wings and fly around randomly you will unlock a load of em

Points of Interest are areas of the mountain which have specific names, shown in black text on the map. These can be villages, glaciers, ravines, peaks, or other geological features. You unlock them simply by traveling near them, and a green banner with the Point of Interest name will appear on your screen.

It was a pain in the arse lol. But they are needed for 100% exploration.
