I have an i7 6700k OC, 16gb of 3200ghz DDR4 ram, a Radeon RX 480 8GB OC. Everything is up to date that is the first thing I checked.
Yeah I think I found the issue. My computer is brand new, only a week old. There was a GPU optimization suite that came with the motherboard drivers that was pumping the power usages way up for my card and it was causing horrrible performance. I got rid of that program and all my games nearly tripled in performance.
Yeah I didn't realize the program was even running, it wasn't in my system tray and I thought I got rid of all the bloat wear.
then delete settings at documents/my games/steep.
start game to make new file.
