God Eather Ressurection Problems

Hi, I've been a fan of the anime, so I though I´d try the games.
Now I am playing on Linux ubuntu 24.04 through steam with the proton compatibility and everything works just fine, up untill I try to crate a character and then the menu just freezes, all the music and character movement still perseveres. I found a tip somewhere that adding:

"PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%"-

edit: with or without the launch options the game takes about 2-3 minutes to actually start, with a black screen while I'm waiting for stuff to happen untill I get blinded by the developer and publisher flashbangs.

-to the launch options would fix this, and it did! Except now my fps went from a solid 60, to 5-15 at best with 2-3minute loading screen in between EVERY chat or menu action. So I figured after creating the character just the way I like @5fps, I turned off the startup code et voila 60fps back again, but now again I get the menu freeze issues and it's driving me nuts.
My system is:
Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS 64-bit
Ryzen 7 4800H
Geforce 1650 Ti 4GB Mobile graphics card
32GB Ram memory

I can run Diablo 3/4, PoE, Grim dawn, Noita, Dead Cells, Portal 1/2, Torchlight 1/2/(3 runs but who plays that mobile wannabe ♥♥♥♥ anyway)

I´ve tried several proton versions: experimental and 9.0.2 so far.
I have tried going into the Nvidia control center, but I think its very limited on Ubuntu and having troubling singling out a specific program, it's giving me a bunch of errors on creating profiles (which seems kind of pointless since I run everything on max performance through Nvidia all the time)
I haven't been able to single out GER for using any onboard graphics, so I just put "play all of the applications with max performance with Nvidia grapics ALL THE TIME"

I'm hoping some other people have encountered this and maybe found a solution, because at this point I can play the game for like 5 minutes before something freezes by something simple at scrolling menu´s and reading stuff and I have to restart the game to fix things. At this point I have been trying stuff for over an hour and I haven´t even gotten to the fighting yet,
so if this problem is staying, I'm just going back to other games even though this one seems really awesome since the anime only had 1 season and I need more god eater content. xD

Edit 2: Started GE 3 and it runs smooth as butter with 0 problems.

try specialk maybe? this is a 10+ year old game I doubt it's going to work with anything but windows

thnx for the tip, I might look into SpecialK, I've got plenty of games 10+ years old that run fine though, buy I haven´t heard of this before, so I'll look into it after I've finished GE3 :)
