Sakaki's voice in particular doesn't fit him at all.
Huh? I found Sakaki's to be one of the best. It's awkward, but I like that. However I think one of the differences between the original PSP and Resurrection is that originally, the NPCs were more softly spoken. Take Kanon for example. But now theyare really in your face which can be a bit annoying. I don't blame the dub though, I just think the script could've been toned down a bit.
Hibari isn't that annoying except for her "I order you!" line
Though it's not just Hibari suffering from flawed attitudes/personalities.
Idk, I love all the talkin during the fights, makes it feel "lively" to me.
Okay, just rebooted my PSP version of God Eater Burst and... I can say this definitely now... Paylor Sakaki is 10x better in Resurrection english dub. Honestly, before I was a bit fence-sitting and simply putting Resurrection Sakaki as my preferred voice (subjective rather than objective opinion). But now, comparing the two, he is definitely better in both character and delivery.
Maybe I should compare the other characters... especially Kanon since I preferred her Burst self (more softly spoken) but I dread to think that in hindsight, I may actually like Resurrection's Kanon better.
EDIT:
Finally managed to find a cutscene with Kanon in it from PSP Burst. Yeah, I prefer her PSP voice. Only thing I don't like is the quality/clarity but I mean... it is the PSP. Can't have HD sound. Her Resurrection voice I don't mind either, but her in battle script throws me off some times.
Apparently Kanon has split personalities. I'm guessing this was something that was only made known in the Japanese version, but was still portrayed during dubbing.
I am well aware. But I liked in the PSP version how it was a bit more subtle making her outbursts even more amusing. While in Resurrection, she's much more "in-your-face" about it to a very insistant degree. I won't lie, it is growing on me and I'm cool with it now.
She has the highest misfire rate of the entire Fenrir as a result; she pushes herself to accept missions on her own to train herself.
Oh god and now my mission is to fight a Quadriga with Kanon only as my party member.Pray for my soul my comrade.
And yet you survive fighting 3 Big Ones with Alisa.
There is no Prayers for you XD
