No Japanese Dub?
So I just bought the game(s) and coming from the anime I am a bit annoyed there is no japanese dub that I can find, is there one in the game? or at least a fan one that is downloadable?

No japanese dub and not likely to ever be one either. I'm not one for the whole "♥♥♥ dub or GTFO" kind of thing so I can enjoy this game regardless.

There won't be japanese dub because there wasnt in the original game as well. the japanese voices were for the japanese version.

The Japanese voice project has been discontinued:

Also, Bandai Namco didn't get the license to use the Japanese voices for this version of the game. Explanation here:

HOWEVER! It looks like the Japanese voice project for God Eater 2 is still ongoing, so look forward to that:

i want a dub too but i hate that from Bandai:steamsad:
I'm on the opposite side of your issue with certain other games
I don't see anything wrong with having both dubs in the options
*looks at Koei and Blazblue Central fiction*

This seems like a prime time to necro... (meaning I already had it typed up before I noticed the date)

That's great and all, but most people who want Japanese dubs aren't just after it because it's in Japanese, it's because most english dubs, this game being a horrifying example, are terribly awkward and obnoxious. I mean really, Shio's voice AND acting? The characters have a far different feel with a bad voice actor, and often completely miss the character traits ..how can one not react with revulsion to her - and in a lot of cases these change the feel of a character entirely.

Speech patterns are a big part of any character who has dialogue at all, and when an actor fumbles every line, they utterly ruin a characters likability if a player has the volume on. The Japanese dubs are very dramatized no doubt, but at the very least, most dialogue sounds like conversation, with real reactions and motivations instead of one just provided by a director... instead of someone reading a script with nothing but a general "direction" for their dialogue (if they even get that, I have to wonder with some of these)

I for one would LOVE if I could play these games in my own native language without cringing every second of dialogue, but I honestly can't understand HOW that's possible for some people, unless they're playing with the volume off. Almost all games / anime that are localized from a different language are TERRIBLE, and part of the reason is the recording process is different there, than here. Here, you won't find a bunch of voice actors together in a room under normal circumstances, and it shows, because you can tell the actors are not even conversing with each other, and often spent maybe 5 minutes trying to figure out their tone of voice / in character voice before doing the recording.

I really can't imagine not being too discerning to ignore something that takes me out of the plot / action that drastically ...every time there's some dialogue.

Given that the game didn't have to be re-recorded in Japanese for games FROM Japan, it makes no sense to not add a separate audio track for fans with an eye (or ear) for quality. To me it makes a big difference, whether the actor cares about their job and has to try to keep it, or not. It's not exactly a highly competitive market here compared to the country of origin for a given game.
