I recommend crafting and sticking to 1 Melee Weapon (Buster, supposively best mele.e weapon) and a Range weapon of your choice (I prefer the Gattling). Then upgrading these to the Difficulty at which you are at.
Ex: Difficulty 7, try to upgrade your weapons to Difficulty 7 but 6 will also do fine.
Also, I like to Give me Team mate when Abilities that could stun the Aragami's giving me opening to use Melee attack and cause heavy damage. Also, I always keep 1 of them a healer.
You become powerful the same way as in Monster Hunter, you learn the aragami attacks and dodge or block them. Then kill them until they drop what you need to upgrade your gear to make your life easier.
Also you don't need to use the bullet crafting system. You can do fine with the bullets the game throw to you, but unfortunatelly you also want to know what is OP in this game, and the answer is exactly, you guessed right, the bullet system.
I can give you my full setup in some screens, but if it's tedious for you now you won't have much motivation to go to where you can make one alike.
This is not what I am seeing in the game, how can I make my guy do things like this?
That's a blood rage. The features that only available on god eater 2 rage burst and will be unlocked at rank 8.
As for resurrection, there's predator style instead.
As for melee, they're not as good as GE2 version due the absence of blood arts (gun still retain the blood bullet effect), but as for all rounder i would say either long blade or spear, both of them deals decent damage, good attack speed, and have good mobility.
As for guns, what makes them broken is the custom bullets and cornix predator style (which capable of restoring your whole OP bar in single devour). While the bullet recipe actually interchangeable in GER, the effectiveness are vary based on the guns.
==Blast: excel on shooting high costed bullet due the reserve system. Having bullet that breaks the damage limit is only something blast can do.

==Sniper: excel at long range (can be abused by shooting the bullet upward instead to gain some distance) and get bonus damage at hitting weak spot. Also has nice stealth field ability which you can use to abuse hidden attack for 3x damage.

==Shotgun: Doesn't really have strong niche in GER since any other guns can use what supposed to be "Shotgun exclusive bullet" at slightly higher cost.
It has same 6 module slot as assault with much lower rate of fire.
At very close range, Meteor bullet (which cost lower on both Blast and Sniper) is much more effective than shotgun bullet with close range damage bonus.
The shotgun mobility advantage is overshadowed by Predator style.
Basically i don't see any reason to use this.

As for flashiness factor, some people do add decos to make the bullet looks awesome. Obviously it lowered the effectiveness due to additional OP cost, if you want to see great reference, i really suggest you to visit this channel (he's the best guy out there in term of making flashy bullets)

As a added side benefit u can exchange your Avatar card with each other(you get his and he gets your char) completely with the bullets they use(wich u can use then) and u can use their Avatars for Free missions to make it all a little easyer.
