Soo, Venus just made me ragequit...
Caution: Vent incoming! :P

First thing's first, I'm enjoying this game a lot. But I must say the Venus fight just seems a tad too frustrating for my taste... Why did they think it was a good idea? Most of it's attack have huge aoe and damge, hitboxes are off, Soma is useless and just getting himself killed and not even beeing able to provide decent support since he's a melee character... Most of Venus' attacks will instakill me unless I'm at 150 hp, the attack where she summons all the lightning colums is also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t, specially if you're caught too near her body since somehow magically when she does this attack her whole body becomes a hitbox stunlocking you inside the area. The charge attack that ends in a spark explosion is pretty annoying too since she's much faster than you and can go on running for a good while, her back charge also seems to have very little telegraphing... She also seems to be able to take way too much punishment, 10 min breaking her bonds and shlashing at her godess part doing around 700 dmg per hit with my Serpent Blade N and she still wouldn't go down...
Damn, I'm just getting so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the game... Even if some of the hitboxes were wonky and some of telegraphing of other enemies is non existent for now I didn't have too much issue with it, but this particular aragami is just getting the best of me... It has been an instakill fest and on top of that the music in this particular mission is so boring it makes me just wanna get over with the fight... I just can't seem to enjoy fighting Venus, at least in the story mission, Am I the only one?

Just had to vent I guess, I think with a decent team it might be half as bad, but as it stands the story mission is just frustrating and boring...

I would appreciate that, I just wanna get over with the fight. I honestly would rather face 2 friggin' Dyaus Pita + a Hannibal than Venus at this point :P

A few things I found helped when fighting Venus...
Have Venom Resist at full 10!
Flank her, attacking from behind will avoid her frontal attacks
Use block, like every Aragami she telegraphs when she's going to zap ya
Did I mention Venom Resist?
Make sure Soma can take hits (Damage Cut), Recovery Items and/or Restore Stock helps, and Venom Resist doesn't hurt.
Oh, and you should have Venom Resist also.

Once I got a handle on her attack patterns, and equipped Venom Resit, she wasn't that hard... just takes a while because she has a lot of health.

tips: try aim for her huge arms with crush type weapon, it's much safer than attacking her goddess part. Or use stun grenade before attacking her goddess part

or.... meteoor

Reinforce, Reinforce +, Defbuff Resistancr

Def, Def (burst)

Devour HP

There, she barely hits harder than a lv1 Ogretail.

Thanks! This time Semaji95 helped me. But I will use your tips when I face her again!

Errrr... I never had any problem with Venus...
At that point you should have the two def skills maxed on your equipement, and the two melee atk and gun atk, as well as some extras qualitify of life stuff. You should break a bond in way less time than that, just use regular piercing bullets or lasers, not explosives, on the yellow spots. Once down, she loses 4 sources of attack, and you only have the main body, which is pretty easy to deal with with a gun, and if you don't want to take risks with your melee weapons, you can still hit the destroyed yellow bonds.

You don't even need antivenom, just carry detox pills, pop one if you need to, but honestly, it shouldn't happen often.

I know that feeling, i tried it for hours and i cannot defeat this ****!
I am a Melee-Fighter but i am so depressed on that enemy that I tried to build the Meteor like jashinsamael, but i dont understand the bulletbuilding at all, so it doesnt work...
Why dont i can play with three NPCs i like instead of only one, VS a new Type, thanks Director....

I just used scythe and be done with it... venus is rather easy if you break all of its jelly first, they rather break easily with guns..

Now i got it too. The Claymore is a little to slow for a few enemies. The Longsword is better in my opinion.

Just to say as a person who uses the claymore for everything except for the Blitz Hanibal and the blue variant.

In case you need really quick attack speed with it there are 2 options

1. step slash: you need to make sure where you will be after the step ended.
2. jump slash: You need to make sure the blade's trajectory but it hits faster than you think. About 10~20 slashes on the jelly will smash it easily.
Darkzyphriel Feb 20, 2017 @ 9:56am
oh your right the jump slash is fast, but the step slash is something i dont really use....
But the main-problem in this fight is the point that you only have soma by your side. No Kanon, no Annett which are the one who heal me all the time ;) For coop with others, i like the heavy weapon, but alone i prefer something faster.

It's good getting used to the step slash because it does not have the "prewinding" part of the attack when you are just standing and let you attack much faster for the first hit. BB is quite gold when you get used to it because it.

Only Soma, a that mission.... well I guess I can't give too much tips there, I almost always used the BB so I forgot how to use other things lol. Mastering a weapon takes time and... well I guess I am enjoying how the buster moves and therefore I know how to control it.
