Sadly Vanquish is its own kind of cover shooter but like the other said MGR is a pretty good spiritual successor (with slashing instead of shooting).

I've been recommended Binary Domain a number of times in response to this question, though I don't know if it's actually similar. I have my doubts, though I don't really doubt that it's a great game, considering the Yakuza team made it.

I'll be honest, I doubt there's going to be much out there that really feels like Vanquish, but apart from other Platinum games (like Rising, one of the best games ever made), I really enjoyed this short game called Proxy Blade Zero, and it reminded me of Vanquish despite being a hack and slash (I think of Vanquish as a shooter made like a hack and slash game anyway).

honestly DOOM Eternal forces you to play the game how Vanquish wants you to, keep moving and get close. different shooters with the same philosophy.

Oh yeah it is a LOT of grinding, but the "core gameplay" concept is very similar.
Personally, I did find Warframe boring however.

I liked Warframe around 2013-2014 but the grinding stopped me to have fun...
