Watching tb's port report and he said either one could affect the "film grain effect" in game.. not sure.
"High-dynamic-range rendering (HDRR or HDR rendering), also known as high-dynamic-range lighting, is the rendering of computer graphics scenes by using lighting calculations done in high dynamic range (HDR). This allows preservation of details that may be lost due to limiting contrast ratios. Video games and computer-generated movies and special effects benefit from this as it creates more realistic scenes than with the more simplistic lighting models used."
So yeah, it's just a lighting setting in game.
I mean I have no idea, I won't play until tomorrow so i'm youst trying to get a feel for the ♥♥♥♥ like these settings and what will be most preferable.
as soon as he said film grain I wanted them off but he didn't go into any detail/there's no description on what they do.
How would detail change wheter they pop in or not? could you explain a bit better.
Well I guess it's a "leave on" setting atm then.
Probably, I don't really understand the diff from your description though, specifically that first sentence.

At 3:02 is what I'm trying to explain. Sorry for not making much sense. It's stupidly hard going by what I remember.
I still don't see how that affects pop in though since according to him there's no such, at least in the example, on the pc version.
Thanks as well, pretty sure those where the only things that's not self exp.
Not higher textures at range. Objects have more detail rendered at range, as in polygon count. The pop in is from a low poly model transitioning to a higher poly one.
Think of it as an automatic detail render distance. The further away from a sphere you are the more polygonal it becomes. The closer you are it becomes smoother. Turning LOD's off means to a certain extent the full model is rendered over a greater distance,.
Blurry? Uh...you sure? It's clear as all hell at 1080p. if you're going by the video then don't. Youtube's video compression doesn't do videos like DF's justice.
