Wow! We don't get many 3D users so thanks for reporting the issue!
We will look into this and let you know what happens. The Windows 8 version of RR3D had full 3D support which we left in place for Steam but weren't fully sure if it would be used.
The issue with the particles staying on the 2d path and not going towards you (viewer) like it does in red/green 3d is probably because of the forcing hack and the game didn't detect it was running in 3d mode.
We will take a look at it and see if there is anything we can do. Our priority at the moment is multiplayer as it's quite in demand.
Cheers,
It almost seems like the 3D setting isn't sticking and/or the 3D Vision option is missing... if there were a way to force the game into Stereoscopic mode, through a command line or ini file, or [better yet(?) a way to] force the particles into 3D mode, which personally I think looks better even in 2D mode, and just let 3D Vision Automatic do it's thing... usually the reason 3DVA doesn't kick in is due to not using exclusive fullscreen and using some sort of windowed mode instead.
The only other thing I'd suggest is putting some of the 2D elements like tags, health bars and off-screen markers onto a VS and into depth, half the depth of plane the characters are on... that way not only would they be the correct depth they'd also tilt with the level.
Either way thanks for the feedback and staying involved in the community, it's definitely appreciated.
