Stuck/Hollow Log?

I'm really stuck. No one that I talk to will say anything. I still have the star chart even though I've done the lyre puzzle, and the minstrels have been helped, but now I need to break the hollow log, but I don't have any tools. Am I missing something obvious??

Yes, but Squiggles is too short to reach the dynamite and I can't get any new items

Update: got the sparklers but now I can't do anything with them and I still can't reach the dynamite

Okay, I got the sparklers lit, but I still can't do anything with them. I tried using it on the hollow log and nothing happened, and I tried using it on the bugs and nothing happened

Another item. The game is actually very good at providing hints. If you click on the mannequin, Greg says, "That's not the part of the mannequin that interests me." You can grab the wooden hand.
