i read 3 - 4 hours , is that the length of this first chapter ? or the game when its completed?
if this first part takes 3 -4 hours thats a nice amount.

In reply to sp3lfanaaT: Midnight at the Celestial Palace: Chapter 1 is its own game, with an approximate play time of 3-5 hours. Subsequent games in the series will be released separately.

It seems as though quite a few are having trouble with the Star Map/Projector puzzle, so I'll offer a solution here. Please be aware that this is very much a spoiler:

The south east side of the card grid on the projector is considered "down" in relation to the Star Map. The Lyre is formed by using just four cards, and can be formed in any corner of the projector screen. It's easiest to start by finding the projector card that looks like the upper-left grid box on the Lyre (three stars.) Then, match the other three cards to it. A cut-scene should trigger when the Lyre has been formed successfully.

I dont mind spoilers, i always check walkthroughs on youtube before i buy HOG( hidden object games) this way i can see if the game suits me: graphics, sound, effects and music, i always skip 3d fpp and games with too many flashes and motions.
As for skipping 'subgames' almost any decent HOG has a skip option inc ase things drag along to much and long which poils the game and people will hesitate to come back at the game if they get stuck to many times ( i do and i been playing and buying games for 40 years now)

Thank you for the reply.
Now for my other question: performance

seems visionaire can have some problems eating cpu:

i googled and found 2 questions:

http://www.visionaire-studio.net/forum/thread/performance-issues-/

i have ALL the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 files i have more versions cause not every developer uses the same versions so my pc has more versions installed ( yes i have loads of games on my pc (all bought at steam, gog, gamersgate and retail in the shops)

My pc: i5 750 quad core 2,67 8 gb ram nvidia GTX 750 Ti 2 gb
win 7 64 bits home premium

and
http://www.visionaire-studio.net/forum/thread/high-cpu-usage-after-graphic-card-drivers-update/

this case is not that i use the desigenr tool myself, but i do have same cpu issues with the 50%
even when tabbed and game not visible ( focus) the cpu is still at 15 tot 20% or more and it should be far less.

I do like pizza and some barbQued meatsteaks, but i rather not barbeQ my cpu.
Unity has same problems so a dev fixed it by adding vsync control in the game options, now i can play that game without having a barbeQ on my CPU.

Thanks for your question, sp3lfanaaT. You may want to turn V-sync off in your graphics card settings. This seems to lower CPU usage when running the game.

thanks for the reply.

I am familiar with the nvidia settings i always buy nvidia gpu, but i also set the settings for every game in its own profile, so the vsync is on by default.

Seems when you turn it off in the base profile the usage will go down 20 or 30%
but usually i use the recommended setting which allows every program/game/tool to have its own setting, this seems to work for most of the default and older games.

So far it seems to work i have to play the game and see how things will go.

Skipping the intro, i edited the settings to skip the intro , yet the old man intro doesnt want to skip, how can i skip that intro?

For what it's worth, I think it's an excellent puzzle. I tried to assemble the Great Lyre, couldn't make head or tail of it, abandoned the puzzle, clicked around for a bit, and then thought, "Why am I assuming that the upper side of the tiles is towards the top-right corner?" Definitely was an aha moment.

And it's just one step in a long chained puzzle. I think I haven't played a game designed with such attention to puzzles in ages.

I had a few cant remember them but after >40 years of playing games i have seen all kinds of games, thats why i am extremly picky when it comes to games, i dont go out and buy just anything.

Incidentally, it's impressive how smoothly it all works. When two characters are needed to solve a puzzle, or you need to be using a reference while solving a puzzle, or it's a multi-step puzzle that you can abandon mid-process and return later to where you left it, we all know how clumsily it can be implemented. Here everything is polished to a tee.

And it's nice when you can see some changes in the game world after your actions. Even better when everyone else in the game world can see them too.
