I tried to post a link, but it looks like Steam is blocking it. Googling 'use discrete card only laptop nvidia' came up with some good results for me. I hope this helps.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I'm on a brand new desktop gaming PC with NVidia GTX 980 Ti (drivers updated yesterday), so I'm afraid I don't match the description (The PC generally runs intensive 3D games completely smoothly). I tried Googling the terms anyway, but the steps don't seem to work out the same way for ordinary graphics cards. I've tried both the normal and the new 3.3 beta version and encounter the same problem (menu flashing for less than a second, then purple colour permanently covering the entire screen although you can hear the buttons responding when you move the cursor around and/or click). Looking forward to hear if there are other options :)
Thanks for the extra information! When you say purple, do you mean something like this? http://answers.unity3d.com/storage/temp/31577-still_pink.jpg
If so, that means that Unity shaders are not getting compiled properly. It may help to try launching the game using different rendering backends. When you say 'PC' I assume you are using Windows. If this is the case you can try both OpenGL and DirectX versions of the engine. This can be done by specifying command line arguments to the game.
If you make a shortcut to the game and add " -force-opengl" to the end of the command argument, does that fix it? Here are some links with explanations on how to do this. If this works, I may try forcing OpenGL by default in Steam.

Thanks for giving this a try, and sorry it didn't work first shot! If you're up for the trouble I'd love to keep working with you to debug this issue. Thanks,

Thanks for the extra suggestions! I probably should have mentioned that I already tried forcing OpenGL using the method you suggested to no avail. When forcing OpenGL, the screen immediately takes on the pink colour in your screenshot, but it covers the entire screen rendering nothing visible at all https://gyazo.com/d8388aba5a8e0726d5324d5e9b37c91e
When launching the game normally, the entire screen starts out covered in a blue colour as the game launches https://gyazo.com/8f908d657a3ba17ec208d19b2bf1ee43 then the game menu flashes for less than a second and the entire screen changes to a purple colour https://gyazo.com/320e113aae79d29e2203d512b2651e6d as the intro music begins, neither of which are matched by the pink colour described earlier.
In all the above scenarios, the background music continues to play as normal and all of the game content (though completely obstructed by the colours) audibly reacts to cursor input.
have dell inspirion 5558 with i7 and geforce 920 on windows 10 home x64. And that driver crashing after 2-3 minutes in game. but for me it is still funny game to play ;)
Thanks for the detailed explanation, and for sticking with me on trying to track this down. I've never seen and/or heard of the purple color you are seeing. I'm not quite sure where to go on that path, so I'm focusing on something that I think I can fix.
It looks like some OpenGL shaders might not be included with the Windows build, which would cause the pink screen on some machines. I'm adding those shaders to the 0.35 build, which will be available in the next hour or two. There should be a new posting on the Beta Forum soon, and I hope this fixes the "-force-opengl" issue for you.
Thanks again, and I'm going to continue to look into this to see what we can do to improve our process.

Excellent, the 0.35 beta build coupled with -force-opengl solved the issue for me, and the game now runs completely smoothly. I'll let you know if I encounter any more problems. Thanks a lot for your dedicated support!
Awesome! I'm glad this workaround has fixed the issue. I'm still investigating the purple screen when using the direct3d rendering backend, and will update you if I find anything. Thanks again for all of your help in debugging this issue. I hope you enjoy Crush Crush!
