The voice acting is really unsettling, I agree.
The double text windows look terrible, I can't stand them.
Defying the 1 girl per slot tradition also bothers me quite a lot, I would have much rathered they were separated into two slots. It's like having a mint condition card collection of 49 and then the 50th card you get is one of a kind but has a tear in it. Sours the integrity of the rest of the collection.
And anyway, twin-girl characters are fairly popular these days, and while I haven't actually unlocked them yet, they just look like a parody of the "Nekopara" girls, who always come in a pair (pick your definition of the word "come" there).
They even copy the maid-motif for their visual design, and the names are appropriately food-themed, "Chocola and Vanilla" VS "Ginger and Wasabi".
Right? Totally feel that...
The characters in the Nekopara series are fleshed out and actually adorable though, G&W seem like very cheap spinoffs of what could've been. Can give me a 10 for 1 deal at a restaurant, but if all 10 taste like crap, that doesn't make it a good deal imo.
Quill, despite not being a real catgirl, plays a much more lovable role of what a catgirl should be. Quill is one of my favourites and I really enjoy catgirls in countless other media so this is definitely more of a quality issue I think. I don't believe my neko-standards are even all that high.
At least they're not full-on grizzly bears I guess.
Some of them are emotional light, while some are bland. I think the batch is not that bad. It's somewhere around good (7/10) if this was some kind of starter career. I agree that some are forced, especially Wasabi.
Well, I think you're nuts.
Ginger and Wasabi both sound fantastic, and the voice actress even had me fooled into thinking it was two different people doing the voices (It's not).
Missed opportunity to give Wasabi a first voice line interaction out of both of them in the main line.
Ginger is optimistic, cheerful and kind and Wasabi is pessimistic, dejected and a tsundere. The voices fit them, in my opinion,
