about Suzu

i know suzu is like a fox spirit but i just thought about something... correct me if im wrong but isent a fox spirit an Evil entity in Chinese lore thou?

I thought a Kitsune was from Japanese lore/mythology? From what little I can immediately recall, I know that in Japan, the Kitsune spirit tends to be more mischievous than what we have with Suzu, but still, an evil entity in one culture may be a benevolent entity in another (like owls!).

I mean, we have a psycho-obsessive serial killer, a telekinetic mind-reader, and a blood-sucking vampire, so the game is certainly not above adding dateable characters themed around things that are traditionally considered to be on the "darker side". But I think this is really more of a case of different cultures having completely different meanings behind their superficially similar myths and legends. I'm sure there's a culture out there somewhere that has positive mythology revolving around goats, for example, when in American and European folklore the horned creatures have been commonly associated with Satanism.

i know and thats great. my surprise was that suzu is one of the sweetest and nicest toons in the game is all so i didnt think it matched with the lore and foxes was all. but i really do love suzu. and the mix of the toons and the personalities is refreshing and it keeps things fun and interesting :)

I wasn't a big fan of Suzu at first; I felt that she leaned a bit too hardcore into "furry" territory, especially with that voice and certain choices of phrase that she uses. But I warmed to her over time; that whole "almost comically over-affectionate" personality is quite endearing to me nowadays.

i actually really love furrys my self. its a bit of a kink i have for anime chars so she got points for me even bf i bought her from the game shop :) but i do have my limits though. if they have animal ears tale and light fur with a humanoid face its hot BUT if they look more animal then human like full fur and an animal face thats where it crosses the line of being almost bestiality for me :( (thats why bearvily sorry if i misspelled that freaked me out really bad the first time i played on nutaku and i refused to play her for the longest time expecting to see ssome crap that would scar me for life. but when i finally took a risk on her i cant stress enough how relieved i was when she turned into a hot furry though i wish her tone of voice wasent like how it was. kind of killed the mood for me.

I always thought the nature of the kitsune was complicated in that they're cunning tricksters but not entirely good or evil. Historically speaking, the kitsune likely became a folklore creature due to the proliferation of foxes in olden times when the land was more agricultural than urbanized. Farmers both loved and loathed foxes. Foxes were good because they ate pests like rats and mice. However, they could be pests themselves by stealing food and killing livestock (like chickens).

As for Suzu herself, I'm neutral on her. I don't like her but I don't dislike her either. I mostly just bought her for the Tree Planter job.

well i can find out alot about them without having to look up the lore. my land lady that owns my apt it Chinese and was born there i can ask her about the kuitsune she should know something :)

To bear fair, I never really cared too much about furries but I don't believe that Kitsune is really that kind of furry. But I don't care for them as much (Sorry Beaverly and Tessa) But I don't mind them being in the game if someone enjoys these characters but Suzu does give a best example (other than Brie) of these other-animal-like characters.
