The whole "undead" thing may be kinda off-putting for some, sure, but "undead" doesn't necessarily have to mean "smelly, rotting corpse". Remember, vampires are technically "undead" too, so Lustat would necessarily fall into the same category. Can just think of her as like a younger-looking Lustat with a more "unique" complexion, if you like.
At the end of the day, she's an animated, fictional character in a fictional world. Anything about her that's not canonically confirmed is up to personal interpretation - if it seems right or makes you feel more comfortable, go for it.
so i doubt there would be any bad smell
