I mean... the writing is meant to be ambigous as possible about the gender of Marshmellow/the player, as the translation notes point out. The idea being that they could be lesbians, straight, or bi (pansexual too, I do suppose).

Then again, I'm not entirely familiar with what lesbians look for in a girl, so perhaps having a mere "male-female switch" in the profile might not be enough.

It's about time everyone realize that ones sexuality does not equal their gender or their attraction (to the protagonist)

And for the matter at large it's concluded by the community here. Switch the gender of the marshmellow when you want to see some lesbian action in Crush Crush.
