I posted already about this in another thread... But to reiterate...

There are policies on each platform because each side wants their own cuts of the profits. Kongregate has them, which is what we had to go through when the game first came to Steam. Then the game went to Nutaku for the adult patch... We had to go through it again... When / if the game goes to mobile we'll go through it again.

Other developers bypass these policies through other means, either they don't care enough. Or they have enough money to take that risk. It was originally intended to allow cross platform which is why the save slot options was originally created. Back when it was just Kongregate and Steam as the only versions of the game. But it came to light that it would be breaking policies if they allowed it, once Nutaku entered the picture.

Just look, how long it took steam to get an adult patch, in the first place.

Sad Panda is a 3 person development team and Crush Crush is their first released game, they do not have the funding or legal man power to back up a legal battle if it did arise. So they chose to follow the book to the letter rather than walk a grey area, other developers threaded.

Yes it does suck having to start over 3 times, but I did it, and also shelled out money all 3 times on multipliers. I started during original Kong release... Moved to Steam... Moved to Nutaku...

Also jumped on board as a Patreon for over a year now.
I don't regret it either, since its these transactions that helped move the game forward. Also it aids the development cost of the next game they are working on.
