My advice for Dome of Light
I was asked to provide some advice for the Dome of Light mission by one Arreclain, in a thread that I didn't feel particularly inclined to spend any more time on. I'll post it here so anyone else having issues can use it too.

Uh, could I ask your advice for Dome of Light? I'm having issues with maintaining base defense while still escorting the Plasma Tanks.

There's two big things to know about Dome of Light.

1. Until you plant a Rhino on position 1, the only threats you'll face will come from the air, i.e. Spirits and Banshees.

2. You have all the time in the world to get around to the Rhinos. Unless you're going for par time or a gold medal, you can turtle away until you're ready.

First thing to do after clearing the initial attack is to position your spartans in the various towers nearby. Alice should be in one of the two close to your base, while either Douglas or Jerome should be in the one out by position 1. Whoever isn't out there can take the other tower closer to you. Have the Marines grab one of the nearby abandoned reactors so you can upgrade your supply pads immediately.

After a few marines and hogs for early defense, fill your turret slots and upgrade them with missiles. Then build a vehicle depot and build a scorpion and a few wolverines. Plant the wolverines near positions 1 and 2, and research the dual launchers upgrade as soon as you can. They should blast a decent number of incoming spirits out of the sky before they can drop their troops. You should also eventually get the medium and heavy turret upgrades.

Once you have that set up, you can pretty much turtle until you're comfortable with your army, at which point you can move the Rhinos in. If you're willing to do it, you should leave a few marines and scorpions at position 2 so they can wipe out the covenant base before they even finish setting up. Same goes for 4 and 5, if you just want to win without much of a fight.

Dome of Light is pretty simple once you've got your feet on the ground, since you have all the time in the world to get around to finishing it. If you're looking for a gold medal or speedrun guide, then I'm not the guy to ask. I really don't remember how I got those. Hope this helps.

I'm playing the mission right now and I honestly put way too much thought into this. Just take your time, build your turrets, and get a few wolverines to shoot spirits and banshees. A few scorpions and marines should take care of things on the ground.

I really appreciate this. This is a very solid game plan. I'll let you know how it goes once I get a chance to play again. Many many thanks!

Completed with a silver first try after following your advice. Thank you!
