Actually, I passed the mission with 1 transport left. I just didn't feel like playing anymore. But please, tell us all how you finished the game on the hardest difficulty on your first try with one hand behind your back and thought it was too easy. There's always a few on every forum.
When it comes to path finding, the only real solution is to move your army in small steps or sending out a Warthog or a Covenant Leader. Then having your troops be picked up in Pelicans (UNSC) or Teleportation Pad (Concenant) to the Warthog or Covenant Leader.
And zooming out is indeed a pain that I wish they did do. But you get use to it eventually.
Then you just lost, because I never played multiplayer. I lost interest in the game after that mission. I was also planning to buy Halo Wars 2, which will no longer happen. In fact, mods can go ahead and close this thread because I no longer have any any interest in it or the series.
