How is the Keyboard and Mouse support?

Played in on 360 when it first came out, but since I'm probably gonna pick it up on PC I would like not to have to plug a controller in.

This may just be because I never played Halo Wars on the 360, but I personally don't like using the controller. It was the first thing I tried since I'm relatively new to PC gaming and especially RTS games in general. So I definitely thought the controller would be for me. It wasnt

Ill agree with what's been said that the keyboard controls aren't perfect but I would argue they are slightly supirior to using a controller (or at least more flexible) i very much like being able to move my camera and cursor seperatly. That alone probably doesn't give you too much of an edge but I can see how in general using kbm would result in over all faster unit selection and deployment around the battle feild.

I still own the game for 360 and being a player for which gaphic quality is secondary to play quality, my only reasohn for rebuying it on Steam would be to get an improvement in control via kB+mouse. I completed the game on 360 and was fine with using the 360 gamepad, but I would have preferred being able to select multiple units with more standard controls like mouseclick+drag, among many other things you can tipically do with a PC RTS.

From what I reading in this thread and others though, the majority seem to feel the KB+Mouse controls aren't implemented very well. I read that ALT+Mousewheel button is required for example for screen scrolling, and that alone is a turn off for me.

It's not perfect, though it is usable. I played a bunch of HW1 on the 360, but I find that mouse and keyboard is still better than controller for this rts.

So it is usuable? I saw people on youtube use a mouse but the game says "Full Controller Support" so that got me worried, not gonna buy it yet until I know more about the keyboard so I would greatly appreciate your guys' help. Once buying and opening the game, how do I change to mouse and Keyboard?

Yeah it's usable and plays pretty well with keyboard and mouse

i played the game on 360 alot when it came out, i tried K&M and hated every second of it. i was way slower in every aspect, movement, selecting units, building etc. to me gamepad is way better

hey guys, bought it and love it, although i noticed its a little laggy, my thoughts would be to lower the resolution, what do you guys think?
